So what is the great reset and who voted for it?

(otherwise know as "build back better", "the 4th industrial revolution", "sustainable development", "UN Agenda 2030" etc)

Christ

Why do people have to brand everything these days. Even the traditional boom and bust cycle is no longer sacred. The byproduct of the hyper-commercial era

Somewhat predictable that it was just one fleeting post of usefulness

The 'Great Reset' is just a phrase that came out of the WEF itself.

The name of its own book on our economic future from Covid.

What it's called is less important....for example, you could call it the 'fourth industrial revolution' if you like.....another phrase from WEF.

It might well have started as a phrase but as per politics these days everything has to have a 'campaign brand' and the WEF are no different. Understandable to remain memorable and simple but annoys me regardless

What also annoys me is certain areas of society turning a descriptive term into some mass conspiracy theory.

I get it.

'Build back better' got on my nerves a bit....considering how unrealistic it is....like a dodgey builder who has come round to your house.

Tesco's 'Every little helps' gets on my nerves as well....a tacid recognition that most of their customers have to penny pinch.

Bit off topic but two slogans I hated were "Your M&S" - no it isn't but if it is I'll take what's mine without paying thanks - and "The People's Post Office". How dare you tarnish me with the scandalous way that you treated and destroyed perfectly honest employees.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

This.

Sometimes the people working on these advertising campaigns just deserve and need a slap in the face with a wet catfish.

The worrying this is they are paid to come up with likeable or catchy slogans so to get it so wrong is shocking. If I was that bad at my job I'd be sacked

They use focus groups.

Mostly...I imagine, filled with women and men who think like women.

I'm with you...like elevator music, both in invention and quality.

Whether by design or not we’re heading for similar to the aim and result of the ‘Great Reset’. The world, well the west, can’t provide acceptable standards of living for everyone or enough people the way we’re going. I obviously dislike it, but it’s happening. Or we could end up in a modern multicultural mixed version of Victorian Britain with overcrowding and huge wealth gaps between those without assets and capital and those with - who’ve mostly accumulated capital via asset appreciation. Our leaders’ way of addressing this will be huge inheritance taxes that disappear in government debt repayments and paying for the excess citizens to live. The property will be snapped up to turn into small homes for multiple more people.

the 'Great Reset' ?

the day the BBC went from British and proud of it, proud to be British

into

ashamed, apologising and embarrassed to wave the flag.

sometime circa 1989 ? the fall of the Berlin Wall.

the 'Net-We-had' at the Etihad....again

thought you were going to say when the BBC went colour from Black & White. Loads of new sets then.

Nowadays a slogan needs to be bland, and woke.

Advertising wimmin centric preferably using mixed race race families and lesbians holding hands.
