Johan Cruyff for me, absolute genius. That great Dutch side in the early 70’s was a big part of sparking my love of football, especially as England didn’t qualify for the 74 World Cup

Also Glen Hoddle, he could pass the ball through the eye of a needle and scored some superb goals, shamefully under used by England, and Gazza, what a player he was in his prime

For us, I loved the guts, guile and determination of Cabaye. Always gave it all he had and came off the field looking absolutely shattered. Sure he played many games carrying knocks that lesser mortals would have ruled themselves out with.

And, Lombardo was so good by Palace standards! I remember him sending Warhurst running in the wrong direction because he didn't expect the quality of ball he would have received if he'd read the Italian's mind. However, that might say alot about Warhurst as well.

I loved watching Bobby Charlton as a kid, and saw him, Georgie Best and Denis Law turn it on in the second half for Man Ure to beat us 5-3, after Palace led at half-time, in an end of season match around 1970/71

55 years on the Palace rollercoaster!

Michael Laudrup
Michel Platini
In the early 70s Gunter Netzer was brilliant.
One who could have been there - Alan Hudson.

Ones I've actually seen include Bryan Robson and Gazza, as has been said already, but I'd add David Platt in his prime to that list. Tireless box to box and could finish (remember his last minute extra time goal in the World Cup v Belgium)?

And, of course, Nick Chatterton.

David platt is vastly underrated a player,

I was trying to think. I live in Ireland, a taxi driver was talking to me about him the other day. Talented player that you don't hear much about.

A great passer, with a left foot that could open a tin of beans
