That's my take as well on the formation and our poor decision making in the final third.

PS. I'll add to the Luka debate by saying I was disappointed to see him start but have to confess that I thought he had a decent game.

Careful doombear...that sort of considered and ration thinking goes against the anti-Luka agenda.

Luka was a very good servant to the club. His penalties alone were worth what we paid him. His time has come and gone, but I have no complaints about his Palace career.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

The ref must be related to McGinn? I can't see any other explanation.

Villa have gone backwards under Gerrard. All that talent and they play like Burnley.

I was thinking the same thing about the ref and McGinn being cousins or something similar. It's the only explanation for allowing him to get away with all that crap he put about. Or maybe the ref had money on a Villa win? I don't like to put it on the refereeing but this was just too egregious. He was very quick to yellow card us for any infraction at all.
Also pretty sure their goal was an OG on Guehi, not sure Watkins even knew what happened.

Too busy fouling MG. Just seen it for the first time. Ridiculous, but we had chances galore. Yet again, the close season must be used to sort out a hitman.

While I dont disagree, I actually thought this was the best he has played all season!
Beneteke was anonymous when he came on.
Villa are a dirty team. They kicked CG and WZ all day and the ref ignored it.
The reason we didnt win was because we didnt take our chances. Simple as that. We had lshooting oppotunities and no one would have a go. 2 points dropped.

Was the rake down Gallagers calf by that animal Mings, even looked at by VAR? Red card if on a Liverpool player

Yes I watched the entire game. Sorry, just cannot agree that referee’s decisions help you score more goals. We got in the right positions, we created half opportunities, however we are just not ruthless enough with the final pass or individual’s finishing skills are not up to scratch.

PV himself mentioned it after the match as have numerous other commentators and posters on here. You cannot rely on a ref to help you out in a match, we’ve had enough crap decisions this season to know this. It’s a fair result because they scored one goal and we scored one goal, no others reason.

Well we will have to differ then ! The referees decision certinaly helped the Watkins goal which was clearly a foul you can give it , its VAR not the ref , but at the end of the day the on fiels=d ref has rhe final say , yes we should have scored more and possibly could have if the ref didnt keep blowing up every time one of the AV players threw themselves to the ground or if McGinn was sent off . All ifs and buts and i do agree we need to be more ruthless in front of goal. A fair game would be nice for a change .

It wasn't two teams on the beach anyway. That's a positive for us. We've two funny games coming up. Three points in one would be nice, maybe four or six from the two would be great.

Yea , I cant asee us getting the win against Everton , they will be well up for it as they have to win to avoid relegation . I think a draw would be a good result and wouldnt a win against United be a great one to watch in the pub in Cashel or any Irish pub

Mili said in his post match interview, that the ref told him it Was not given because both were holding/fouling each other. Not sure about that from the camera angles I saw.

So presumably no fouls will be given at corners then?
