Put under huge restrictions that had significant to devastating consequences for many all under the umbrella of 'doing our bit', while he's throwing parties left, right and centre. Contempt for voters. Stockholme syndrome level thinking for this bloke to get your vote now. Not even saying there's a viable opposition either, just that we routinely get the governments we deserve. You'll not find anyone as relieved at the invasion of Ukraine than our prime minister. Perfect timing to take the heat off.

100%. And a war he wants to keep going for as long as possible. Makes you wonder.

Johnson has made a pigs ear of most things and the real damage is just starting to bite. Years of economic misery for most just starting.
Hasn’t been easy but the outcome will be dire.

Dire indeed dreamwaverider, dire indeed!

Lost my dad to Covid at the height in Jan 21.

Couldn’t give a rat’s toss to be honest. Johnson, Starmer et all, they all broke the rules - the fact is we all did.

My neighbours are complaining about Boris when they had a bbq so they could all clap
together.

The problem is everyone assumes their side is right. There is no concession of any shades of gray (excuse the pun). Whatever anyone did they will be wrong.
The Covid fraud was borne out of people complaining it wasn’t loaned out fast enough:

It’s a total f***fest Worldwide. Hindsight is always 20:20.

Very sorry to hear that, pal. I hope you're holding up okay. Was talking to friend the other day who got a new job, and said that it's still a sensitive topic around the office there, as two people died on covid. It just goes to show the impact where people are the unlucky ones.

As for gov, I feel like the onus is on those threatening to punish us by law to follow the very 'in it together' restrictions they set. That way at least BJ can claim to have believed what he said, rather than treated us like a bunch of mugs. We all know politicians are bullsh!tters, but surely still expected that there would be some lows they wouldn't go to. I'm just pleased that I didn't lose anyone while while this idiot was having a merry old time, while I was blocked from seeing them. He has massively damaged what little remained of any trust in him, and others in power really. If they're laughing at us over this, why would we assume that anything any of them say is true or a genuinely held view? It's all the same pantomime that we keep buying a ticket to and wondering why nothing changes for the positive..

I am sorry you lost your Dad.

I am though surprised at your attitude about the "rules". It's just untrue that we all broke them. Whilst some were difficult to interpret, I, and many others I know, tried to follow them. As did, I believe, the majority of people, some of whom had no other choice due to their vulnerability.

That some broke the rules is obvious. There are always some idiots who think they know better, and no-one expected anything more. The point was to restrain the spread as much as possible.

Jonhson had a special duty to be seen to be following them. In this he failed, as he does with almost everything.

He has to go. His integrity is in shreds.

I think it’s all relative. Starmer ramming it down our throats how wrong it was annoyed me just as much as what Boris did. They both had a beer - so what.

In Boris’s position I think I would have. Christ knows the man walked into a s*** storm, as did Starmer to be fair.

Covid wasn’t partisan, it didn’t give a crap who we voted for. But there is no absolute rights and no absolute wrongs in it.

I should say so.

What better opportunity to be 'Churchill', and not actually do anything except supply some kit, then get all the credit.

I was amazed to hear this 'there's a war on' nonsense as if we are actually in one.

'We shall fight at the parties, at the piss-ups, we will never surrender'.
