staffies favourite band, RIP, see below the great man's comments

30 Years drummer for "YES"...played for J.Lennon,George Harrison,Ginger Baker,J.Cocker,Alan Price,Billy Preston and many more...
Alan White was born in Pelton, Co. Durham, in northern England, on June 14th, 1949. He started taking piano lessons at the three years of age, but, encouraged by one of his uncles who also was a drummer, he was given a drum kit and he took lessons, leaving them later to find his own style of playing. He started playing in local bands, and by the age of thirteen he had become a professional musician.
This album is the only solo work from Alan in 1976 along with"YES" album "Relayer"when most of the band decided to do some solo works.

Alan White - Ramshackled

I have it, great album

Also have 4 Jon Anderson solo albums & 1 Steve Howe plus a self titled Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe album

Another bit of info:
Alan took over the drums with Yes from Bill Bruford, and Steve Howe took over from Peter Banks.

I've seen Yes 4 times in the late 70's / early 80's before Trevor Horn took over, Jon Anderson has a magnificent voice.

Def Leppard - Diamond Star Halos

Had the album delivered to me on Friday Double lp, one disc yellow and one disc red.

It's a tribute album to all their influences, T-Rex, David Bowie, SLade etc so is not like their usual stuff but still a decent album

I remember seeing them back in the very early 80s as part of the NWOBHM when they were a proper band. Will be interesting listening to their new offering though......
