Keep seeing tweets about this party, so went and had a look at their website, where their manifesto seems to fit well with what many people on here are saying they want from a political party.

Anyone else been reading up about them?

Looks like a party that the left wing would throw all their 'ists' at, whether warranted or not.

I agree with a lot of what they're saying, but I'm afraid that they're unelectable due to the demographic of the country now, and all of the the wokes.

I’ve met David Kurten twice and both times were fairly long conversations, both times were during lockdown protests. He seems to be a good man although I’ve heard he was one of the key people who ousted Gerald Batten from UKIP who I also thought was a good man. Who knows.

There are defiantly good people behind the party but lord knows when the English will finally stand up for themselves.

"For a nation to thrive it must be connected to its roots. We as the living generation are responsible for looking after the heritage which has been passed to us from our forefathers, and we have a duty to pass it on to the generations which will come after us. This is the basis of social conservatism."

Sounds so reasonable, doesn't it? Read on though, and what it seeks to do is not it's basis at all. I am sure there are some who truly believe it is, but there are others who use it as a cloak to cover some pretty unpleasant attitudes, justified by the kind of claims to be found here.

It also totally fails to recognise that life is never pickled in aspic. It wasn't for our forefathers, and it isn't for us. Life is a progression and with the pace of change ever accelerating we simply cannot just look backwards. We must value our heritage and honour our history, but we must live in the now, and plan for the future.

I hope all those who believe they are "social conservatives" join the new party and feel they have found a home. Everyone deserves that. They can then campaign, democratically, for their policies.

I truly hope so because it won't be long after that, that they will also start to campaign for PR. Which is something I will join them in recommending and fighting for.

One issue parties set around Immigration have been shown to be able to make inroads and nudge government policy significiantly. Those who try to craft a wider narrative based around culture wars and every negative view of others they have under the sun, not so much as they water down their message and so lose people along the way. Almost zero chance of this party making any significant impact largely due to that.

One good thing about the group at least is that it's headed by a black guy. That will at least keep many neo nazi sympathisers away (as even Tommy Robinson acknowledges that they muddy many a message).

I actually agree in part with many of the 'wokery' style criticisms. Though of course our own loud societal burdens often use social wokery and societal compassion to their $$$ advantage where it's beneficial to them in any way, while sneering at it when it's others benefiting from in any perceivable regard. So it's to be an all or nothing. But as I said anyway, these parties often place too much window dressing around a central idea. Where they water down their key message people just give them a miss. If you're not a major political party you need one timely central idea.

Reform Party, Heritage Party, Reclaim Party. All essentially the same kind of thing.

Tend to agree with all of them on a vast range of issues but suspect that none of them will make much ground electorally and if they stand against each other, just split the vote all are chasing. Reform is the logical banner for all to operate under because of what it achieved as the Brexit Party.

What we really need is a single-issue movement again to upset the status quo much like UKIP. Personally, I would go for a ' TV Licence Fee referendum' approach. Get that up and running and I reckon in local elections and the like, might actually garner some traction.

Martin can you tell me what “woke” means. I thought it originated in black community USA and strongly linked to Black Lives Matter. Has it been hijacked to suit other views?

Surely you would want 'Support Russia in their Invasion of Ukraine' party. According to you, Russia's motive are so clearly good, the party would attract overwhelming support.

'Get Kiev Done' That kind of 3 word tag line? 'Liberate Donbass Now!' Both lack a certain something.

Not sure any of them would be catchy enough.

" Defund the BBC ". Works far better for me because, when all is said and done, I suspect the vast majority of the UK population is far more concerned with being forced to pay for an organisation that despises them than wars in far off places.

I'll give it a go.

'Woke' is a term those who have generally failed in life use to justify their anger at themselves, their ignorance or generally the lack of attention they would otherwise receive for their personalities of achievements. It is designed to fuel a deep seated, delusional belief that all is wrong with the world and that is the reason for their ignorance and insignificance in it as opposed to identifying any self-responsibility, thus they are woke [awake] to all the problems of the world that have been orchestrated and designed to work against them whilst others are not.

Example: "You know old chap, I'm quite sure that the reason I am unemployable, living in poverty and full of suicidal thoughts is because of what other people have judged me to be. Yes, 'tis not one's own inability, and responsibility, to improve one's life, 'tis the world that's wrong".

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
