Film has been pulled by Cineworld apparently after 'Muslim mobs' protested it's showing as it depicts 'the daughter of the prophet' and this has been deemed 'blasphemous'.

Discuss..

My opinion is just on the end of this 20ft bargepole!

Britain was known around the world for its tolerance and welcoming of people from all over the world for hundreds of years.

It has now become the laughing stock of the world because we allow those people to dictate to us, and bow down to their faux outrage.

I'm getting away as soon as I can. It's too far gone.

Yep

i would avoid Ireland. It's even worse. Our St Patrick's day parade seems to have expunged the Saint himself or any reference to Christianity.

just a big Lefty extravaganza.

How gay is Ireland these days? Gay this and that seems to dominate these days.

No word of a lie, an ex-collegue of mine who I was good friends with once (jokingly) pulled the 'Muslim' card (which he was) in a very non-serious situation.

I proceeded to remind him that the first time we'd met he was eating a 'bacon + sausage', yes both, sarnie with a Mayfair fag behind his ear and was well known for his fondness for a pint of Peroni.

How many times do you hear the men say ‘’I am a Muslim’’ rather than I’m Asian or any country they have an allegiance to? Nearly all of the time. This doesn’t happen with westerners.

the immigration of single young men (religious fundamentalists) into the West will continue unabated. Until the West is transformed into another Third World.

At which point the impetus for said immigration will have ceased.

Crime, homelessness, grooming-gangs, a failed health service, religious sectarian strife........ you aint seen nothing yet.

We are headed toward a new Dark Age. 500 AD in Western Europe...reborn.

Best place to live : any small fishing village in Iceland.

Worst place : London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid

I fear you may be right.

I don't know about that I spent many a night in my youth thinking I was on a promise only to be told 'I am a good Catholic girl...' and some were - but some weren't!

I know, but I meant more about them introducing themselves and nationality coming way below importance of identity.

More of an outward perception than the reality. There are a lot of Social justice warriors here, but also a lot who just don't agree with any of it. Ireland is competing against other countries in trying to look the most woke. However, Catholicism still strong, family values still big.
Everything is tolerated but p1ss off the Irish and they have ways of dealing with it. Everything is a nod and a wink - if you know what I mean.

I e heard there’s been a planning application for a mosque in whyteleafe. Anybody know or have a link? Perhaps someone is winding me up even after I’ve called wind lup, which is pointless imo when some people keep saying it’s not a windup.

Why not? There are mosques everywhere else.

regarding the OP. The main thrust of the protest was that people found the content of the movie to be offensive.

Can you walk into any religious bookshop and buy books that contain incitement to violence, homophobia, anti-semitism, paedo-ideas and other stuff ? just wondering if i want to find it all 'offensive'.

and regarding tolerance, freedom of speech and all that....what is the punishment for being an apostate ? its not exactly the same as joining a Fitness gym and then cancelling your subscripton then, is it ?

''oh well, i tried it for a while and decided its not really for me. Hey, why are you swinging that sword at my neck ?''
