you know, for every One Wilfried Zaha there are another 99,999 'also-rans' to use a horse-racing terminology. And so : 1. Professional Footballer 2. Artist , fine art...painting, sculptor etc 3. Pop Star...the toughest industry in the World, especially with some talentless gits hogging the limelight at the top. When did Madonna learn to play an instrument ? She was mainly a Dancer, if i recall correctly. And did Elvis write much of his songs ? 4. Poet....great money to be had, on the dole. 5. Economist....do 99% of people who study this go on to work at a different job ? become an Accountant or stack shelves at Tesco. John Maynard-Keynes had the ear of Presidents & Prime Ministers. My son got a degree in Musical Theatre ( I know some on here will laugh). Very talented singer/actor but unfortunately if you have the wrong looks or do not know the right people….forget it. Went to audition after audition finally gave up, not through lack of trying but disheartened

One of the girls that my daughter went to school with is now doing some form of Photography degree in Uni - it might lead her somewhere in terms of a professional career but it did seem kind of a niche market choice.

I could've been a judge, but I never had the Latin... I never had the Latin to get through the rigorous judging exams. They're very rigorous, the judging exams, very rigorous indeed. They're noted for their rigour. People come out of them saying, "My God, what a rigorous exam!" And so I become a miner instead. I managed to get through the mining exams. They're not very rigorous. There's no rigour involved really. There's a complete lack of rigour involved in the mining exams. They only ask you one question. They say, "Who are you?" And I got 75 percent on that.

Prime Minister. Either your party gets voted out or you lose the support of the party and resign. Rarely does a PM leave office as a popular figure with their head held high for a job well-done.?

Edited by PalazioVecchio (15 Jun 2022 5.16pm) Pop music performed by individual artists who can’t play musical instruments doesn’t stop at Madonna. Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, George Michael and Tiffany lol. It then happened with boy and then girl bands. This kind of performance pop music isn’t for ‘musos’, but there are some impressive voices in there. You can listen to some songs you hated years ago, probably because they were played to death for months, but can now appreciate the talent in the voice and maybe the composition of the single/song and how it was evolving back then.

Being a carer. It doesn't set you up as a failure as such as you're helping people, but from what I can see the desire to help often seems to be taken advantage of when you see the woeful wage attached to it.
