Slight change of tack on here but credit where it is due, I thought Mick Lynch of the RMT Union was superb in his handling of the media yesterday. Made many of the usual suspects look like idiots. A master-class in how not to play the Media at their own game but rather turn it around on them.

Only just say it.. Hard to argue with you on this one [Link]

My favourite is Piers Morgan trying to berate him for some funny avatar he has on his Facebook page (I think its a baddie from Thunderbirds or something like that). Its clearly meant to be a joke based on a passing facial likeness but Morgan trys to use it to somehow rile him up and he is having none of it.

If the Left could drop all the Woke/Climate BS and you could trust them not to just open up the borders, then the political situation is theirs for the taking.

But they won't.

Yes, it's a pity they don;t just focus on a core message and lose the fringe stuff. You have to wonder sometime whether there is some strange intention to having those in power inept and corrupt, and an opposition verging on unelectable. It certainly keeps the show on the road.

I am convinced that for many on the Left, they don't actually want any power. They much prefer it, and are probably even addicted, to being able to just shout and scream about what the Government are actually doing with almost zero desire to actually have their guys in Downing Street.

A great example is many of them having a meltdown this week when Johnson popped up in Ukraine because they are clearly distraught at actually being on the same side as he is.

And why they adopted so much of the bat s*** crazy Trans stuff (although to be fair, all of this has happened under a supposedly Conservative Government) because they know it puts them in direct opposition to the very people they need to be persuading to vote for them although once again, I suspect they have been deliberately corralled in this direction possibly for those very reasons.

Maybe it does, but there does come a time when you have to ask if the clearly desperate need for a different approach to a variety of economic issues could genuinely be in the collective interests of the vast majority of the population?

The Trade Union movement has been effectively surrendered to the Progressive Left and we have lost a major aspect of working class political power. Never forget those Dockers who came out in support of Enoch Powell. Nor the stance of people like Bob Crow and so on who were opposed to the EU and freedom of movement (although in his case he was an unrepented admirer of much of what the Soviet Union achieved).

This idea that there can be no cross-over between the Right and the Left, is ludicrous.

I genuinely believe that most British working-class people in the UK feel utterly bereft of any real political representation in our system and when you understand that the Tories have more ex-miners in their ranks of MP's than Labour, then it is clear that all the old divides have gone.

We maintain this illusion about Left and Right, and it is a narrative fed constantly to us, but do both parts of the mainstream political class actually represent anybody other than themselves?

What did the Soviet Union achieve - apart from record numbers of corpses of their own people?

There's a lot to this. I see the intention as being to ferment so much anger and divion between people who essentially have an awful lot of common cause, that they will cheer on own their rights being taken away, and make allowances for all kinds of corruption and nonsense as long as it's presented in a light that feed into this dynamic.

Well, it took what was a barely post-feudal society and put the first rocket and then man into Space in under 50 years. It put drinking water into every village. It spread all kinds of arts and culture to those self-same villagers and did in part foster a genuine sense of Brotherhood amongst people from across a huge variety of backgrounds. And saw to it that a lot of people learnt to read and write.

Yes, it was not pleasant at times, and millions died but it also defeated Nazi Germany, at a huge cost to itself. And when it did fall apart, it actually was, given the sheer scale of what the USSR was, prove remarkably bloodless.

I proudly proclaim myself as 'Anti' Communist because of all kinds of inherent flaws I believe exist in Marxist dogma but lets not pretend that they got everything wrong.
