Abuse happens in many forms and whether it's churches, childrens homes, celebritiy circles.. there's always an unfathomable time where little to nothing is done about it. Tommy Robinson isn't someone I'd call an ideal figure to highlight this issue due have a laser focus while results in ignoring abuse elsewhere (and incidents like the Syrian schoolboy incident are ridiculous). Still all in all, clearly what he's highlighted in these communities needed a light shone on it, and that has happened. No-one should get away with abuse and where it's brushed under the carpet [Link] any attempt to force the hand of those turning a blind eye has merit.

Where something is seen as 'culturally sensitive', there's always going to be significant pushback from those who prefer to shoot the messenger. It's also going to attract those who realistically just hold hatred for every minority group going, and so really even if he was otherwise a saintly figure he's going to be demonised and painted in a particular light. To my mind though he's often at pains to distance himself from types who wish to hijack and use this issue for their own ends and sweeping hatreds [Link] , and in the cold light of day clearly there's more of a spotlight on this now so that's done some good.
