We'll lose him at some point, now we get a fee and perhaps it's about time that we can prove we are capable of being a success without him. Be sorry to see him go but he'll get to play in Europe which a player of his calibre deserves.

He should go. Lad deserves a medal of some kind. More chance there. Life’s too short

I can't see him enjoying himself at Roma. He never settled at MU and that was only a few hours up the M40! I know he's ambitious and he has been restless over the last few years but I just don't think he'd be happy anywhere but Selhurst.

No, no and three times no.

See your career out at Selhurst, Wilf.

Please.

If this develops into an offer on the table then it will be a real turning point in the `sell Wilf saga`.

It's the last time the club is likely to get a reasonable fee for him. We rejected the rumoured 40 to 60 mill offers for him in the past and imo this was the correct call as, at the time, he really was dragging the rest of the team along by the hair and keeping us in the Prem.

That's not the case anymore. I have sufficient confidence in the first team that we CAN survive without him. I just don't know at what price we let him go for.

10 to 20 Mill: No I just don't think it's worth the risk as I doubt we can get someone of his ability (or potential ability) for that amount

40 Mill plus: Yes, sell.

Anything in between......grey area of difficulty.

Another way to look at it:

If he won't renew and somebody is willing £25 m (net to us) it is the equivalent of loaning a player for a season for £30m.

I love Wilf, but hey...it must be time to part if we won't extend.

Just to add to this...it is for this same reason that I doubt he will extend despite us being the fattest financial package for now. He will want the freedom, in his mind for the first time, to decide his own career next season.

I don't' want him to go but Roma are a big club so if they really want him and he will be a first pick player then he deserves his chance to shine in the big time.

I was reading yesterday that a bid for Zaha for was dependent on Nicola Zanolo leaving Roma. Though, the fact they have expressed an interest indicates that could well be the case.

Should a reasonable offer in ( say 25m maybe 30m - I really can see much more than that now), he will go.

Zaha has always had that the desire to try his hand again at playing at a higher level. I totally understand in decision if he decides to leave, because it really is the last chance saloon for him now.

We cant hang onto him again and have him sulking around for a season like before. Whilst Roý put up with it, I cannot see PV standing for it all.

One thing though. His status at Palace has meant he is given freedom and latitude he would not elsewhere, and sometimes there are players who simply cant play for anyone else but one team. Matt Le Tissier springs to mind. Had he left Southampton I think he would have struggled.

Be prepared in things fall into place, he will be leaving this summer.

Then the question is how do you replace him ? You cant.

Of the possibilities, I'm not sold on McNeil, Sarr might ok (abit hit and miss again though). I would go all out for Brennan Johnson but persuading Foredt to let him could would extremely difficult.

Money maybe an issue from them unless he would be willing to take a pay cut. I’d rather Wilf went abroad though than say Newcastle etc.

Thought that was Lazio not Roma?
