Just a small point

The Shirley Hills are on fire.

Two fires, two sets of four fire engines (4 at each) and 60 firefighters. That's big.

I really don't know why people insist on making such a fuss. Nothing to see here. Albeit there is something to smell from my house, which is down in Croydon

To lecture others from the moral high ground, we first need to ensure we are standing on it.

Our efforts may be insignificant in the overall scheme, but they aren't if they demonstrate it can be done, and how it can be done.

We led the world into the industrial revolution. We now have a duty to lead the world into solving the problems it created.

That's quite amusing as I regard you as never standing on any actual moral ground.

Neither do I regard you as an anglo saxon so all that 'we' stuff can go coco.

surely it was a woman who invented the wheel ? Or at the very least a transgender-ex-man....needed wheels to push his pram while trimming his/her beard.

actually, i am told that the nasty wheels on those nasty War-chariots were invented by men for the battle of Kadesh.

And the good wheels for those prams & food-carts were all invented by virtuous women.

There was a fire just outside mine as a cigarette was launched into a bush.

The locals remain adamant that this is not the fault of Climate change but rather that of the education system and general lifestyle choices in Kent.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

You can easily guess my opinions on the matter. But in the spirit of keeping the discussion fair and balanced, i will keep my own counsel. And even link a few of these heroes for illustration.

Let's see what happens when people start to be faced with real existential problems and not ones manufactured by media/government/corporations. Real 3rd world problems.

I don't think we have that long to wait.

Are we meant to believe that grassland spontaneously combusts at 38c?

All those fire engines. Think of the pollution they are pumping out. We (the UK) need to invent a solar-powered fire engine to atone for the sins of our ancestors who invented stuff, ~

I would have thought the price of petrol would have acted as a major deterrent to budding arsonists

What time did this happen and where was that avid smoker the member for Medway?
