Hi all looking to go to my 1st game this season. Was planning on going to either Villa or United but held off because I've not really got a clue where to sit.
Side note anyone have experience with macron kits? If so how big or small do they come up compared to t shirts? TIA all.

Where you sit depends on you I would say. Tell us about yourself. Shirts no clue

Don't expect high quality toilets, food or beer. Sort yourself before the game. The fanzone isn't bad. Jury's out on the shirts right now.

I'm 26. I would want to be reasonably close to the vocal section. I would be going for the atmosphere as much as anything else.

Arthur Wait - A travel back to years past but good atmosphere, bit closer to away fans and close proximity to the choir. Had a season ticket here from about 2009 - 2016... I think! Bring trunks and inflatables if you ever manage to make it to the toilets. Eat beforehand!

Croydon Advertiser - Only sat here once, Cardiff League Cup Semi Final, great header by the one we called Cort if memory serves! Not my ideal location by far, lots of kids I'd say (as intended) and I'd imagine a fair few ST Holders.

Lower Holmesdale - Brought up in the Lower H, my dad always thought sitting behind the goal was the creme de la creme of locations. I'd be surprised if any tickets are going free here but would definitely recommend if possible.

Upper Holmesdale - Had ST here for a couple of seasons. Pitch looks a lot further away than I thought it would so if you're hard of seeing maybe not the best. Nice matchday experience although I tended to watch 2nd halves on big screen! Some middle aged bird behind me used to scream relentless nonsensities when I was up there... I've never had an urge to hit a Palace fan or Woman however greatly battled it for a couple years!

Glaziers Lounge - Think majority of us here are ST holders, moved for the old man as he likes a sit down and a beer of course these days. Built more for comfort than anything but some good characters around. I've no factual knowledge or evidence but always have the impression a few player's families often sit here. Easy access smoking area and better food. The better is contextual to the rest of SP.

Main stand - A good bet for first game, good view, close to touchline/players warming up etc and tunnel too.

Just my personal experience and opinions of course but check out below for a more professional guide.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Then aim for a seat in the Homesdale lower tier. First choice central, second choice closer to the Arthur Wait stand. But being on Main stand side in the Homesdale Lower would still be fun. And try to get three quarters of the way back. Hope you love it and are lucky!

(The Homesdale Fanatics, the main singers, occupy a block of seats at the back of that stand in the middle. I would guess they have about 20 seats across and 20 seats forward from the back. They all dress in black so you'll know them immediately).

They sing nonstop. Some like it, others don't.

Don't go to the Sainsbury's end - boring. I personally find the Arthur is better than the main stand atmosphere wise. I remember getting told off for shouting in the Main Stand. My answer wasn't too nice. Admittedly, I'm the loudest person in the world.
If you can get Holmesdale you'll like it. So Arthur or Holmesdale - but, as said, eat and drink before you go - although the fanzone is ok an hour or two before the match.
The tip at Palace is - go to the loo, which you will inevitably need, before half time. Do not attempt to eat, drink or go to the loo at half time. You have been warned.

Also remember, if you go for Holmesdale Lower you need to be able/ prepared to stand for the whole match - very few (except on the fringes maybe) sit in there.

600 (supposed) singers, some need 'encouraging'. Row 19 and up from that in Block E
