If he was that good he’d be on the team sheet at Chelsea ... yes he was good a couple of seasons ago but he’s on very high wages and we have better options... he was also poor at Fulham....no way will he get back into the England squad...

He has said it a few times. My guess he is a sit on the bench at big team rather than play at a smaller team sort of player.

Prbably because he is injury prone so would rather be a bit part player earning a large wage with the opportunity to win something rather than play week in and week out at a mid level team.

There are a lot of good players at Chelsea that don't get a look in. So that's no litmus test. Take Marc Guehi, didn't even manage to make 1 appearance for Chelsea. Now he's an England international and our captain.
