Except the people who took it to keep their job, or go on holiday, or because they were put under pressure to by their employer, of society (via a huge applied behavioural psychology campaign) or even just their own family.

There is nothing "anti-freedom" or "anti-western" in ensuring that those whose job it is to care for the sick do so safely. The option to refuse was always there, and those who did were found non client contact roles. I don't know anyone in the UK who lost their job. There will always be rare cases of bad reactions. You need though to balance the overwhelming good effects, against the rare bad ones. Those who do need to be cared for themselves with the maximum amount of compassion. What happened to this particular nurse, in the USA, seems odd, and if true, unreasonable, but we have only her side of the story. It must not though obscure the bigger picture. It would certainly have happened in the culture I grew up in! If we had had such things available then. We didn't, so we couldn't, but the people back then were not stupid. If they could have done it, they would. We vaccinated against lots of things. No-one got excited.
