It must be gutting for players like that though, you can have all the talent in the world, but if your body is not up to the rigours of professional football you’ve got nothing, well except a lot of money in the bank I suppose.

He is always such a positive character on Palace TV. I am sure he is gutted that yet another injury has occurred. However, he does have age on his side.

As others have said, it’s time to cut and run. You cannot continually carry liabilities at this level of the game. He might be a lovely bloke and all that but he is a footballer who never plays football so it is a wasted salary.
