Wow you really are an obnoxious person. As if anyone who doesn’t agree with you is a dummy. I wonder if outside of the WE round table brexit ‘meetings’ with your family they would dispute your opinions as not being theirs. I get a feeling you are a bit of a bully and forced them to hold your views. How can you be so much better than half of Americans and 52% of the voting public in the UK. That aside your still just a no body like all of us. Now that is real irony !

The idea that I am a bully made me smile. I will share that at the pub this evening. I am certainly tenacious and try to be persuasive but bully I am not. I loath bullies , of which Trump is one. Both my daughters are strong minded and would quickly put a bully in their place.

The point I was making that it wasn’t just the left wing who reacted to Trump’s victory with dismay, and to suggest everyone else was happy with it, is ridiculous.

To jump on the admitted OTT language I used to make the point and think that indicates anything is a little strange. It’s just rhetoric.

I don’t know how much time you have spent in the USA or how many Americans you know but from my own experiences their political judgements are often based on values we don’t share. Or not most of us.

If you continue to believe that because 52% of those who actually voted, which is far less than 50% of “us”, in a compromised referendum means, that means a majority now disagree with me, then I don’t. The tide has definitely turned, as it was bound to.

I regret to tell you that in my opinion it was the Brexiteers who bullied the people with their lies and false promises.

Nail on the head you have hit.

You can imagine the members in his bowls club all burying their heads in the newspaper or taking imaginary phone calls when he appears.

But seriously, it is his MOI to casually state anyone who disagrees with him is defective, ignorant etc etc.

Everyone is of course entitled to an opinion, but not their own facts.

I could show you two messages of appreciation l received only yesterday for all the hard work I do on behalf of my bowls club and the wider community locally but I won’t as I don’t have the sender’s permission.

So you will have to believe me. Which you won’t, of course.

I imagine something akin to the Bhutan death march only with much more ideological brow beating.

Away from politics I have no doubt you do a sterling job with organising and delegating. When it comes to politics you are very tunnel visioned. I cannot believe you don’t see one good thing that trump did for many Americans.

You really are delusional.

You always forget to remember that the government spent a fortune on Remain propaganda and the media were 99% Remain.

Despite that, people still voted Leave. That is a good indication of the strength of feeling in the country.
You seriously think that claiming a turn of the tide during a serious economic crisis that has nothing to do with Brexit is a credible position?

Go and have a lie down.

Ah yes baseless statements supported by nothing else but your own opinion of Brexit. To quote the Simpsons...

"Mr. Hutz, we've been in here for four hours. Do you have any evidence at all?" "Well, your honor... we've got plenty of hearsay and conjecture. Those are kinds of evidence."

Untrue. He gave a particular group of Americans a focus point, which was good for them. Just as Farage gave a particular group of Eurosceptics a focus point.

Trump though did nothing good for America, and the Americans as a whole.

I have just returned from an hour-long meeting with my MP, who is a Tory. She is writing to Stephen Barclay, who I also know from my time in Wisbech, on my behalf. So I am not really tunnel visioned at all. Opinionated, passionate, tenacious and determined? All for sure, but I can see other viewpoints. I just argue strongly against them when I think they are unwise. We had a very good conversation, which covered many areas, including the leadership contest. She is an impressive, hard-working, locally born lady who is perhaps destined for bigger things.

Leave also spent a considerable chunk and their campaign, run as it was by Cummings, was particularly effective. Credit where it's due, but choosing our future via marketing campaigns just isn't sensible. Add to that the unanswered questions over where some of the Leave money came from, and the bad taste is still there. It is always easier to sell change rather than the status quo. It was in 2016 and will be again when the time comes to re-enter.

The economic problems the west are now suffering are not caused by Brexit. Ours are just worse because of Brexit. So the tide is turning. The whispers are faint, but they exist.

Empirical evidence is still evidence. There is though plenty of hard evidence to support it. Those who deny it seem to deny anything they don't like.

Really amusing following a thread overpopulated and dominated by a last word merchant who appears to lack any self awareness at all.

Isn't that exactly what we do with our MP's come election time though?
