Scousers truly deserve ethnic minority status. If it involves a handout, they'll definitely take it. Or just take it anyway whatever it is.

In this case the community is the perpetrator but also the victim. I guess that's completely new territory for them.

£500,000 to Liverpool in support following murder of 9yo. The murder was abhorrent but why are Liverpool getting this money? The crime is rampant and has been foryears

Hippy counsellors for the locals is my guess. A friend of mine was a Social Worker in Liverpool. He got stabbed in the chest with a pencil in his office which lodged in his ribs and retired. I would blame Liverpool but guess it can happen anywhere these days. Sad times really.

When you consider this for a moment, some might think 'more murders = more money'.

The headlines on Sky News website is "Armed police arrest second man on suspicion of murder"

Surely he can't be charged with murder as his defence will claim that there was no intent to kill the little girl so the most that he can be charged with will be manslaughter.

He can also be charged with attempted murder of the other bloke although his defence will claim that he was only trying to wound him so it isn't as clear cut as it should be.

Anyway if convicted I'm sure that his cell mates will dole out justice

Wouldn't there be additional charges as he forced his way into a house and fired his gun knowing there were innocent people in there? He could have withdrawn but was intent on wounding/ killing without consideration of anyone's loss of life. The scumbag could also be responsible for other shootings and I'm sure the police will do their best to ensure he doesn’t slither the streets for many years. Personally, I'd recycle him as a source of fossil fuel to ease the energy crisis.

Have you ever been to a criminal trial? A defence can, and will, claim all sorts of things, in very many cases without the accused ever having to say a word. If the police and the CPS decided what charges to pursue based on "what the defence will claim", nobody would ever be charged with anything.

As for the myth of 'prison justice'; it very much depends on the individuals. If someone is part of a dominant 'firm', he's going to be untouchable in prison regardless of what he's done.

Unfortunately, large numbers of Scousers are 'Pikeys' who already live beyond the law in many other parts of the country. Bullying, thieving and in some circumstances, murderering is instinctive because they are largely unchallenged by authority. No taxes or positive contribution to society but plenty of handouts are always available to them.

Leaving aside the typical YT opening jibe the definition of murder is "the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another" and the prosecution will fall apart because he didn't premeditate killing the little girl at all

The key word here is 'intent' and how that will be interpreted. There will likely have been precedences set in previous cases where someone has shot into a house killing someone. The law may well judge that shooting into a hallway through a door means that, in fact, there must have been an attempt to kill. The law may interpret it as not an intentional killing. Which I guess would be the serious end of manslaughter along with a rake of other charges. There will be at least a twenty year sentence regardless. A lengthy sentence in this case will be necessary.

Agreed with further punishment later dished out by fellow inmates who also have young daughters

I don't know the law but to me it is not just intent it is about consequences. Blindly firing into a house you may not intend to kill a 9yo but surely the consequences of such an irresponsible action are foreseeable and therefore murder. Anyway that is a commonsense view so probably wrong in the legal sense.
