I just hope that physically & emotionally yesterday didn't take too much out of the team / squad for them to respond in the best manner possible in front pf a packed SP on Tuesday night -

The Mitchell injury on top of being cheated out of a fair goal to put us 0-3 up was devastating.
Our left back was still hobbling about and should not have been trying to carry on when the City scorer cut in from Mitchell's side to score a deflected goal.
Unfortunately he was replaced by Richards, an inexperienced Premier League defender, who is obviously a right-sided centre-half asked to suddenly be a left-back away at the champions.
Our squad was really shown up and exposed at this point, in fact what was happening on the pitch was such a mess Richards was switched over to the right side as the goals went in.
A club our size can put out a decent first XI, but cannot compete with the squad depth and world-class subs a club like City can throw on as we struggle to make do and mend with limited resources.

Commentators are similarly excited by Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal goals.
If only Sky and BBC would give us the option of having just the crowd noise, so we could enjoy the game without listening to their 'experts' fawning over the big teams.
And as for the woman commentator...! That's when the mute button gets pressed.

It is very annoying hearing the commentators getting over excited at the goals when City score.

I could do with a mute Jermaine Jenas button so I didn't have to hear his toady, crappy opinions on MotD. I have no idea how he's made it as a pundit - he's without any personality or insight.

Agreed he never seems to saying anything positive about Palace and definitely never says we had harsh decisions against us

City were due a win against us, but I never thought we would put 2 past them in the first 45minutes. As for the disallowed 3rd goal, I’m not sure the keeper had control of the ball and Edouard wasn’t exactly lifting his leg to challenge the keeper.

It will be nice to play some lesser teams, because Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City in your first 4 games is pretty difficult.

Also Man City away, followed by Tuesday night game at home, followed by Newcastle away. Fixture gods really don’t like us

We've got the two toughest away games behind us and we've come out of them with one more point than expected and with some credit.

With Man U, Brighton and Chelsea to follow the Newcastle game, we'll have played 5 of the so-called big 6 in our first 9 games plus 2 of the next best in Newcastle and our south coast rivals (both away). Let's hope we can avoid banana skins against the eminently winnable games that come after them.

What surprised me on MOTD (maybe I shouldn't be surprised) was the dogmatic way in which Jenas dismissed even the slightest possibility that Ayew's goal should have been allowed, as if it was the most ridiculous suggestion he'd ever heard. Ian Wright was a little more sympathetic, speaking - as he said himself - as a forward.

I didnt really expect anything from the City match yday so was delighted at half time and was expecting the win . The defeat hurt but its kinda made right by not getting beaten by Scummerpool last week , if you lived over here in Ireland you would know why . Thousands of plastic scousers over here with shirts they bought in the 70s that are way too small for them now . I dont think ive ever seen anyone wearing a City shirt.

This is where I love the 'sports mode' button..... cuts down the commentary sound and increases the 'stadium effect'.... get the balance right and you get all the crowd noise with just a faintly indecipherable burble in the background.

One positive from yesterday = 2 goals from set pieces!

(PS I wish Andersen would jump like that when he's defending!)
