I Googled 'Skullduggery at the Chelsea flower show', yet could find none. Also tried crime but I thought skullduggery might get more results. I'll have to send in a Freedom of Information request.

Did you try “bounders at the Chelsea Flower Show?”

I feel sorry for wheelbarrows. They’re always getting pushed around.

I suspect 'Cads' are more of a problem than 'Bounders' at the CFS.

But both scum

As someone said on the radio this morning - if it was an annual football event where people were killed and stabbed and many arrests were made for drugs, sexual assault, violent crime etc then it would be banned.
Now I accept that Euro 2020(21) was a nightmare but the Carnival - or carnage as it is better known - gives rise to an increase in crime year on year so why isn't it banned?

I think a fair comparison would be Leeds/Reading festival. Of circa 100,000 attendees, they had a 16 year old dying from ecstasy, 50 people ejected (a higher rate that the NHC arrest rate) and tents set on fire. Where's the thread on this?

I say this as someone who wants NHC to change drastically

Why compare ejections with arrests ? The 'offence' couldn't be very serious if you're just getting ejected, however if they are breaking the law they should be arrested.

This article disputes your figures anyway.

My son went to Reading festival 2 years ago. He said it was “policed” by a private security company, who have the power to eject people but not arrest, he did not actually see any police.
Is it possible that the Police were operating under instructions to only arrest in extreme circumstances? Possibly to avoid bigger disturbances? I don’t know, just wondering what posters views are

I know a football hooligan he pointed out that the police only arrest a fraction of people in disturbances e.g. 10 arrests may mean 50 people involved. So numbers can be deceptive.

Millwall actually.

But he had a point we have all seen wide spread riots at various events over the years and when you look at how many the police arrest you realise it's a random sample and not reflective of the actual number of troublemakers.
