I think it would have been to a certain extent. But there are those forever optimists, easily swayed by all the bs.

Also clearly some of our targets were dependent on other teams getting the players they were after i.e. AWB and Gallagher and a bit like been in a chain to buy a house if someone pulls out then the rest of the chain collapses.
If this window high lights anything we did very well in the more recent windows to get in players like Olise, Anderson, Guehi and Eze. All 4 are worth a lot more than we paid for them.
Problem now is that as well as the big 6, Newcastle and Forest also have seemingly bottomless pockets so the bench mark price for any player has gone up significantly and it does not seem to be stopping.
There is no doubt the EPL is the stand out league in the world and i will be surprised if the Champions League is not dominated by the EPL clubs this year. To stay in it you have to keep improving and if you stand still or go back you are in trouble. Just look at Leicester.

I just hope that PV isn’t too pee’d off with this window! We’ve been up that road before!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It seems fairly clear to me that Blizter and Harris wont put their hand in their pockets and Textor will probably feel he did his bit last time.

A poor window in many ways, I think after we signed Doucoure our business was done unless we got lucky.

We still have the same weaknesses we have carried over for many windows now, I just hope we have enough to get us through another season.

Mid table mediocrity at best.
