I don't care what peoples preferences. If I greet someone I don't say "Hello lesbian". So even if you don't agree with people's lifestyle choices you wouldn't necessarily know what they are if you are chatting to the checkout girl about last nights soap.

If that person chooses to impart the information then that is another discussion entirely.

The problem with this pronoun stuff is that these people are imposing on you their preferences whether you like it or not and that I do have a problem with.

I agree with you Badger. Very few people set out to deliberately offend and this "offence" taking is so subjective. If it offends someone to refer to a man as a woman, or whatever the case may be, their offence is completely ignored and often derided.
How are you supposed to know these things? Unless everyone wears a badge listing their preferred pronouns, race, gender, religion, sexual preferences, dietary requirements these things will happen.

I would stay away from that family personally.

Kind of similar but a bit posher and a bit quieter. I suppose I would describe them as Christian Fundamentalists basically. I have a weird feeling they're Anglican which makes it all the stranger. It's up to them - obviously, and he doesn't like 'they' that's up to him. In a job though, like it or not, you either basically play the tune or you're out of the band.
I can actually understand the Burke's principles, I don't necessarily agree with them, but they're becoming more and more soap opera these days. A case for this, a case for that, outrage this, outrage that - I'm sure you get the picture.
These kind of people always exist, I went to school with the Gillick children, and was in university with the Burkes, but they're just too much for me. Have your beliefs but don't shout everyone else down and make a big song and dance about everything.

Agree absolutely.

If everyone lived by this tenet the world would be a much happier place.

This is why I've never liked Andrew lloyd-Webber

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Kind of but that doesn't give nearly enough information on the wearer's preferences. They should carry advertising boards and a placard listing their likes and dislikes or micro aggressions are inevitable although since micro = 1 millionth there's a bit of leeway before any actual aggression would be detectable.
