Meet the penguins.

I remember all of those apart from "Meet the Penguins". As a TV aficionado who wasted many childhood hours in front of the box I did wonder whether this programme was no more than a figment of your fertile imagination. However ....

One that scared me s***less and gave me nightmares was The Tellygoons. It's the puppet thing; I was the same with Punch and Judy shows.

Which reminds me of that mid-1950s sci-fi serial, The Quatermass Experiment. Aged 10, I literally ran out of the room to find human company. Others all over the country, it was said, dived behind the sofa.

Yep, scared me too.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

"Up Pompeii!" with Frankie Howerd and his 'V" salute.
I also recall "Criss Cross Quiz" with Barbara Kelly.
"Quiz Ball".

I've got no idea why Till Death Us Do Part isn't repeated these days, or Love Thy Neighbour for that matter.

There are quite a few episodes of Till Death Us Do Part, the sequel In Sickness And In Health and Love Thy Neighbour on You Tube.

Some of them get taken down periodically, but they seem to go back up again fairly quickly.

Till Death us Do Part was on this evening on a Freeview Channel
( which one eludes me at the moment). Certain words were bleeped out - if you are familiar with the programme you can probably guess which ones.

I used to watch this programme regularly.
Alf Garnett used to call his 'wife' Else, a "Silly Old Moo".To the best of my knowledge, I have not referred to my dear wife in such terms!

I'm guessing one of those words bleeped out wasn't 'honkey'. Am I right?

I recall watching an educational program in the 60s called 'How' which was presented by Fred Dinenage.
