I very much like Mitchell as a player. He is doing well for a young lad & seemingly has his head grounded unlike that of AWB at Utd.

I think Mitchell has a lot to still learn but can get caught out yet the support from the middle of defense is so key.

Only issue I have at moment with Mitchell is he lacks confidence to carry the ball forward into space or run wide as an option.Zaha does restrict him from doing that if you watch closely Zaha gives him a ticking off if Mitchell thinks to step over half way line.

The cross Mitchell provided where Palace scored recently is exactly how he should play.Like Dean Gordon did !

Hope he doesn’t get dropped unless he & PV have agreed it’s for tactics not due to lack of speed or awareness otherwise Mitchell could lose his confidence

Forever Palace Proud

Actually I think his confidence going forward has grown over the last year. In the early days Wilf was a sort security blanket for him. He would always look to Wilf to be there and pass to him and then stand off. He now seems a little happier to use his iniative and is ready for the return pass.

Not sure where this has come from.

If it holds any weight it has certainly passed me by without notice! I am very hardened to nonsensical journalism however it does rile me when Palace related.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

To my mind he has not looked the same player since his England call up and injuries last season.
He still doesn't look fully fit to me and has struggled at times this season.
I'm sure he can get his form and fitness back and it should be remembered he's still young and relatively inexperienced.
Until this happens I would have no qualms with Ward having a short spell at left back.
He has never let us down there.

Have to agree. Really improved last season and fully deserved his England call up. Since then he has lost something and has been caught out positionally a few times.
Maybe his injury isn't helping. Hopefully normal service will be restored soon

I was under the impression his loan to Coventry just wasn't working out (not playing etc.)?

He took a knock a couple of games ago, and was subbed off as precaution. In the last game, looks as though they did the same just to ease him back into full match fitness. I don't see any reason to drop him. Maybe hasn't reached the same form as last season yet, but I would say the same about Guehi over the last few games. These are young guys, doing their best, and improving (long-term) all the time. Lay off them!
