It's looking like a deal with Potter. According to that bastion of the truth - the Sun.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

Sky Sports now saying Potter has agreed to become the next Chelsea boss. Once he was offered it I doubt he gave it a second thought as these opportunities don't come up very often. If he fails he has at least tried, if he'd stuck with Brighton he'd always have had the question "Could I have done it?" I like him, so I'm glad he's leaving Brighton

At the risk of a virtual lynching I find Potter at the very least nothing close to unlikeable and much to my chagrin he has been fantastic for the muppets. I think it's a very good point - will this opportunity ever arise again? I would also add though that the Chelsea job can go as far and quickly south as it can any other direction, if not more so. My overriding thought is still the wish for this to happen, leaving B&HA well in the lurch/bang in trouble and Palace to be laughing all the way.

If he does fail he'll have no problem getting a job at a small club like Brighton again, plus he'd have a huge pay out to soften the blow. I have a feeling he'll succeed though. After the glamour of the Russian mafia years I can see Chelsea gradually transitioning towards having a proper identity rather than just throwing money at things. You don't sign someone like Potter for instant success.

I've always liked the guy and as much as we hate Brighton it can't be denied that the football played is very easy on the eye and they've started the season very well.. This is great news though just to watch those self righteous mummy's boys down there crying about him leaving!!
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

The problem Brighton may have, going forward, is that I suspect he will take the recruitment team with him and they have already lost Ashworth.

I agree Jacey,was only saying to my neighbour a week or so ago that i think Potter will one day become England manager. He a top manager/coach but will be under more more pressure at Chelsea. My Chelsea mate wanted Pochittino.
