This thread just keeps on giving. So many programmes have refreshed old memories. Well done Teddy for starting it.

From recollections of Sunday lunch with the radio blaring out Two Way Family Favourites followed by Billy Cotton, then Round The Horne or The Navy Lark etc to mimicking the stop, start introduction to Dr Kildare at school. Wonderful stuff.

Today's programmes are rubbish in comparison.

Round the Horne was great but listening to it now makes you think how little of Julian and Sandy people actually understood at the time...

What surprised me about the superstars program was how fit the racing drivers were, often beating the more established, recognised physical sports stars (soccer / rugby etc) it never dawned on me at the time the kind of fitness regime that they must undertake for their sport -
