Congratulations to our own Scottish player Leigh Nicol for being shortlisted for this Nationwide award. Judging by the others listed, it gives a reflection of where whoever is in charge of this award sees the future going.
See below-
Crystal Palace Women's Leigh Nicol has been shortlisted for a nationwide Women of the Future award.
The awards "provide a platform for the pipeline of female talent in the UK." Nicol has been shortlisted for recognition in the sports category alongside rugby player Zainab Alema, civil servant and paraclimber Anoushé Husain, and athlete Ruth Mwandumba.

From the thread title, all I could think of were those women Kirk used to 'befriend' in Star Trek. Some green, some blue, some silver. Never saw a red and blue one.
Congratulations to the women, outdoing the men, I notice.

Red and Blue Army!

Firstly congratulation to her.

Secondly what a load of rubbish. I don't mean her or women in general but I don't like awards and the worst possible kind are the rising star type like this.

Basically they are saying that the candidates haven't done anything yet but might do so in the future so here's an award.

It can be quite interesting to go back 10 years and look at their predications, be it entertainment / sports / etc. most don't achieve what is predicated so it's as about as accurate as Tomorrow's World was.

I saw the title and thought it was women who sometimes shut the f*** up. Alas I was wrong

Sorry but I've read this thread and I'm still none the wiser about what it's about.

I think it concerns getting a pat on the back for being promising at your line of work. Bit like a gold star or a commendation at school, aka a complete waste of everyone’s time.

In the world we’re in wonder why it’s been genderised.

Wasn't that the bird who let a bloke take p***.graphic pictures of her and then campaigned to have them taken off the internet?

What an inspiration and fully deserving of the award... whatever it's for.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'm delighted that someone from the club has been recognised for an award.

If it had been one of the lads from the U23s I think there would have been a more positive response.

Leigh Nicol has been the victim of coercive control so let's be pleased for her that she's moved on and is getting some success out of life rather than belittle her yet again.

She is indeed, pics and videos.

I might be out of line, but I'm sure there are other women in sport that are doing a hell of a lot of good and much more deserving.

Not sure I saw Leah campaigning before her nudes were all over the internet. But maybe people need a catalyst to start fighting for stuff.
