Italy is a particularly enjoyable development. Seems to me that the current globalistic approach of politicians is getting the kicking it deserves.

This has been on the cards for ages. The media have really only just started reporting it - and then incorrectly. There is a nationalist party that is anti-immigration. It's not actually far right, they're not donning Blackshirts and saluting Il Duce.
Italy has massive debts and the whole south is exposed to massive immigration from Africa. Many will not even holiday in the South due to the harassment of the migrants constantly selling stuff, braiding your hair or generally hassling.
Italian voters have had no choice if they want an independent country. The EU is constantly threatening to treat Italy like they did Greece and Portugal, whilst at the same time, hassling Italy to look after migrants better. Italy needs a different direction.
I doubt it will work, or improve much, will probably draw the typical EU and media ire. But these are desperate people, hardly being able to afford to live and watching their standard of living decline, whilst watching a load of new people expect freebies.
It hasn't worked out - they were bound to find an alternative to the more or less constant socialism/ Communism they have always had. You can't make the same mistakes over and over again and expect a different outcome.
Nationalistic politics will start to dominate Europe now. Frankly, the main reason is in times of less money, immigrants are at the bottom of the food chain and most people don't want them anymore, don't think they add anything to a society and look on them as a drain and a social nuisance.
Hilariously enough the one country where there won't be a nationalist party will be the UK. Ireland will have Sinn Fein as Gaelige and wheeling out the tricolours soon enough.

Italy has had 70 years of poor government perhaps the people have decided its time for a change. If the other parties don't like it they might consider doing a better job of running the country.

As for the EU well Europe and the EU are mainly socialist so I expect Italy will end up on the naughty step with Hungry and Poland.

I don't see the EU collapsing but I do see more tension and disagreement between the various power blocs.

One more point

Thank you Stirling for that and I have to say that I agree with most of what she said. As with most great orators it is not what is said but what is not said. Let's see what happens in the next couple of years and as with Boris and even more rapidly with Truss these things are panning out now.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Sweden has gone to the Right. As will Denmark & Netherlands. And France will fairly soon if Macron continues all his shyte.
