Regardless of who he plays for or how much he cost he is nonetheless a physical freak of nature being both strong and big but also quick and agile. The commentator was saying that if he continues at his current rate he'll bag 70 goals for the season...it would be so funny to see that. If what you read is true though he'll only be here for two seasons before heading off to destroy La Liga with Real.

At the Leeds game yesterday I mentioned to a gentleman that Haaland was born in Leeds and he gave me a rather quizzical look.I mentioned that his father had been ploughing his furrow for Leeds after joining them from Nottm Forest.

He is already a legend. He’s gonna be ranked number one in the world very shortly.
He will cruise the ballon d’or this season and probably for years to come and I’m sure he will see an increase in his pay from £1m/wk.

Undoubtedly, he's a brilliant player. You can't blame a team for wanting him. It just does seem a bit of a financial mismatch when you see teams like Bournemouth or Palace playing Man City - which starts to leave a bit of a sour taste sometimes. We risk having a PSG or Real Madrid in English football.
I guess Man U will have to find Keane junior.

I think we're already there with City and that was evident from very early doors, they have almost lost an identity as a club for me and now stand as some sort of corporation if you like. United close to that but not quite for a very long time and Chelsea did emulate this genre for a while but have slightly dropped off since - they seemingly batted no eye lids in spending a vast fortune on Cucurella... a left back. Personally, I would not enjoy this at Palace. The experience and kinship I feel with fellow fans, often nicely played out on this site, is just one facet I would fear losing should a consortium of multi, multi-billionaires take over.

As for Haaland, he is a fantastic player no doubt, a 'stars have aligned for his creation' type. I wish him the best of luck bar games against Palace and am genuinely enthused when watching him play. Will be interesting to see just how far his star rises. A long career should see him pass Ronaldo and Messi's ludicrous goal totals alongside an abundance of personal and club accolades. Doubtful he'll ever see glory with Norway however the real question is will he bring the CL to City? I'd suggest probably however not guaranteed and that may come with it's own ramifications!

A pet peeve of mine is defenders, mainly centre-backs, who are given leeway for being unathletic due to their size. Just to emphasize this point: Isn't the fastest man ever, ol' Usain, 6 ft 3??? He may not be but I thought he was. Same height as Scott Dann I think??? If that's all wrong I'll look quite the fool now... more so than usual!
