Well, it seems to me that there are those on here who support Trump.

It is also likely that there are many Trump supporters who subscribe to the conspiracy theories (beliefs?), many of whom are strong NRA supporters who would like to undermine the anti-gun lobby.

Many of these would also be the gun-toting, far - right supporters (in many cases white supremacists) who sought to use force to overcome an election result by force.

Free speech? Many of these followers are not averse to physically threatening (and worse) those who might be considered to be 'bad' or biased reporters at the scenes of rallies etc of said types. All in the name of 'free speech'. Ironically.

Accusations thrown about by Jones over this horrendous episode might be said to be inflaming such supporters and, although he might, disingenuously, say he's not responsible for how people react to such accusations, he well knows what he is doing by fanning the flames.

In typical Trump fashion, he asserts that he's said sorry and taking it any further by holding him to account is, therefore, turning it into a 'witch hunt', attempting to spin the events so that he becomes the victim.

This, surely, must raise many questions for debate and, although todays news is the latest chapter, it's not a new story at all so writing my post at 6.15 am is neither here nor there.

What is 'disturbing' is that there has been a deafening silence on this forum, where so many like to trumpet the values of free speech and how the disgraceful 'lefties' have taken over the free speech agenda.

Whatever one's views, this surely, is at the centre of such a debate.

I can't help thinking that, had these events been stirred up by the common hate figures here - 'the left' - there would have been a tummult of outrage.

Unless, of course, one disbelieves the stories of the disgusting repercussions of his libelous accusations, the cost to grief-stricken parents and relatives just doesn't bear thinking about. As shocking as it gets, surely.

Yet?

Nothing. Not a dickie bird. Or did I miss it?

You may be right that there are some Trump supporters, though probably that many, but it's more likely some on here post out of sheer boredom after being lectured for years on a daily basis about how awful the head of another country is/was/will be.

Perhaps Glazier isn't aware of the fact that these issues have already been commented about on the Hol many many times. The Jones situation was covered, January 6th, Antifa/BLM rioting, political persecution and the Democrat's attitude towards free speech have been referred to many times.

Apparently we should be eager to continually and pointlessly repeat the same arguments. Personally I think these debates have long since become kind of pointless. What will happen in the US has long since become inevitable and it's just a matter of when.

Unless I feel particularly animated by something it's hard to gather the enthusiasm to repeat myself and it's far more interesting sometimes to just watch it all.

There was nothing wrong with your post....nicely combative and from the left perspective. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm just a bit bored with it all.

Maybe it's this chest infection I've got.....It's all pretty downbeat at Stirling Towers at the moment.

It does. And also, in a way that perhaps makes me more Alex Jones than Alex Jones, is beyond comprehension.

Why on earth would you make those claims, and to those lengths, when you know them to be patently false? I understand, and support the notion of free speech but libel laws exist for a reason.

Now if he merely stated an opinion that this was a false-flag operation, then good luck to him. Perfectly entitled to do so, no matter how offensive that is. But he went much, much further.

Only makes sense if you accept there is a possibility that it was deliberate. That he fully knew what he was doing.

I have long subscribed to the notion that the system invests in what I call 'lightning rods'. Agents whose sole purpose is to pick up on absolutely genuine grievances, are then promoted as the public voice of them, and can then be easily dismantled by way of sullying the very issue they effectively hijacked.

It is one of the reasons why I am so so wary about Tommy Robinson. The grooming scandals are massive in their implications, on a multiple of levels, of how Britain is in the 21st century. And who do we have as the perceived public voice of outrage? One Mr Robinson. A man easily dismissed and ridiculed. And if others speak up about it? Dismissed as Tommy Robinson followers. Time and time again our Establishment is let off the hook because people just see the name 'Tommy Robinson' mentioned and shy away. And I refuse to see that as accidental.

Now is Alex Jones in a similar position? Possibly. Because it makes little to no sense why he would go all in on a school shooting of this nature. Even the biggest proponent of the right to bear arms in the US must have blanched at what Jones was saying. There was literally nothing to be gain other than ensuring his own destruction. Along with tarnishing everything else he had ever commented about.

Alex Jones is, as Alan Partridge said, scum, sub human scum. He really is though. He is the worst kind of scum. He put a target on the back of parents who had just had their children slaughtered at a primary school.

Wrap your head around that. Does anyone here think that is remotely ok? Lets see a show of hands.

He is a degenerate scumbag and at minimum deserves the financial ruin which will now plague the rest of his miserable existence.
