Can't believe Mike Flanagan hasn't been mentioned yet.

I'll be building my crap team around him and Akinbiyi...

How many other Palace players have scored a top-flight hat-trick?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

In fairness, I didn't remember him doing that. What I do remember is him being absolute d0gsh1te every week (except one, apparently).

Just the three then.

EDIT: Bolasie scored one too. My point, of course, was that hat-tricks are quite rare at this club, yet one of our 'worst' players scored one.

Being as biased as I am, I don’t have many bad players in my memory. However, one guy I never rated was Micky Hill.

I was quite excited when we signed Mick Hill (although I was quite young back then!) because he had a reasonably good scoring record at Ipswich. I didn't think he was all bad - a good target man who did well at receiving and redistributing possession. Needless to say, his goalscoring record at Ipswich wasn't repeated for us (6 in 45) so he moved on.

I looked him up on a stats website. Whereas Palace fans of a certain vintage will remember him and perhaps even have an opinion about him, in football terms he was barely noticed, with just 159 professional appearances. He died in 2008 aged 61.

Fair point then!! Also didn’t Flanagan and Allen’s come quite close together at the start of the same season? even Wright and Bright couldn’t match that

I struggled to remember it as well even though I know I was there, yet I remember Clive Allen’s v Middlesbrough really well

It was a rubbish game but not sure any would get into our worst ever eleven. There's some genuine nightmare stuff. I find it almost impossible to think of a worst eleven as there are hundreds I could choose.
