Yes. It seems to me that some economic decisions are more 'difficult' for some than others.

The most interesting thing you'll find on this is Ireland. A load of international companies base their headquarters here - particularly US tech companies - to avoid tax. After the Apple saga, the EU has ruled these companies have to pay their tax. After the ruling, Ireland was forced to put the tax these companies hadn't paid into an account pending the final arbitrations. Ireland has used some of it (they're calling it a windfall) to ease the cost of living crisis. However, conversely, and rather obviously, the companies are starting to leave. It's not an easy situation to balance.
I guess the UK should have the freedom to entice these companies but they seem unable to. Again, they could undercut tax if they wanted - but they can't stop the way it's an unattractive base for the EU market due to import charges/ customs and taxes. There has been talk of a worldwide corporation tax but obviously that will never happen.

Reversing-out will stem the panic I think Its more or less dictated to Hunt what's required.

The brexit idea that we can be sovereign i.e. decide just what we want to do, is really dead in the water.

This crisis has done lasting damage to mortgage payers and housing hopefuls.

And all for nothing.

It is by no means reversible.
