There you go. Like Brexit. Let's crack on and make a go of it.

When it is something you do control, and isn't working, the same considerations don't apply.

Brexit was not anyone's responsibility but our own.

Different rules apply? I'm astonished. Trump wasn't anything "we" could control but it didn't stop the on-going grizzling.

It can't take a lot to astonish you then!

I don't think anyone, and certainly not me, thought we could, or should "control" Trump.

That's though a world of difference to not caring about what damage he did, and continues to do, to democracy in the USA. Damage that indirectly impacts us. A style which has been imitated here and elsewhere.

Democracy matters to me, and when it is threatened I will say something about it. Not just here, but on US sites too, who often react the way you have done.

Don't think the world doesn't appreciate your commitment.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I don't much care about being appreciated! It's not why I do it.

One voice is very unlikely to make much difference, other than to the views of a tiny number. Many voices might, but if they all remain silent, they won't.

I believe in democracy and in speaking up.

Yes, I've noticed that; the way you encourage alternative viewpoints. It's laudable.

So long as it's done legally, doesn't cause harm or encourage others to cause harm, I am more than happy for all points of view to be freely expressed and debated. So whilst I am not campaigning for others to do the same, I hope they do.

Much better to get everything out in the open and scrutinised than kept in the dark and allowed to fester.

First funny retort.

Second his substantive points are unarguable.

Is anything unarguable on the HOL? A question which probably deserves it's own thread.

I'm not seeing how Trump is any more a 'threat to democracy' than Biden is.

The guy didn't even send in the national guard while the Democrats agitaters in BLM and Antifa were rioting in cities and burning down businesses for 18 months.

Whereas Biden actually has political prisoners in jail.....Trump didn't do that.
