The narrative is about our exciting players and attacking threats.
This season after 13 games we have only scored 15 PL goals whereas at the same juncture last season we had netted 19 times.

Stats are a funny thing. If we compare this season's results against the corresponding games last season, we find that last season we also scored 15 goals and conceded 16 (one fewer than this season's 17)

AND YET

we have no fewer than SIX MORE points this season than last.
This season W5 D4 L4 19 pts
Last season W3 D4 L6 13 pts

By my reckoning after 13 games last season our record was as follows :
W3 D7 L3 Total 16 pts

I'm talking about the corresponding fixtures - namely the corresponding fixtures against the 13 teams we've played so far. Comparison with the first 13 of last season is IMO meaningless. However, if you want to do that, we only got 16 points out of the first 13 games last season and were in 11th place at that stage having played the same number of games as most, if not all, of the other teams. This season we have played one fewer game than most.

What a free gift that pathetic cross was, straight into Guita's hands from Antonio, who should not have been on the pitch by then imo.

WHU had committed players forward and got caught out, justice was done the better side got the result.

Us.

Last minute winners like yesterday's are the reason we travel to watch our team play.

Shame about some particular West Ham knob who chose to steam into a few Palace fans outside the ground. Sore loser.

Up the Palace

The moment I have most liked about Olise (apart from the goals and assists of course) was when he was hit by a bottle at Millwall and just turned round and gestured to the crowd in a ‘bring it on’ kind of way. Reminded me of when Malcolm Allison strolled round in front of the shed at Stamford Bridge and doffed his fedora at them. Magic.

Er, wasn't that when we played Southampton in the FA Cup Semis and after stupidly allowing their fans the louder, more acoustic shed got beaten 2-0?

The memory can be a funny old thing. I remember Malcolm Allison raising his fedora in front of the baying home fans being at Leeds when we played them away in the cup that year. I was there and getting back to Leeds station in one piece was no easy task.

I don't think it was a 'big' deflection. It might not have actually made much difference to the trajectory
