That's the crux. Murray and Johnson managed it though.
Get in a solid creative midfield general and our scoring statistics will rapidly improve ..

I agree. It’s the most important position on the pitch but one we have largely avoided addressing. Oh for a young Cabaye in this current team.

Another Adam Armstrong?

Yup, the Jordan Rhodes of hte early 2010's

Its hard to make that step up for any player, but it seams like the CF is the position that players seam to go from scoring hatful's to barely anything.

Just had a look at this guy on youtube , he looks really good fast and can score with both feet and a few headers thrown in for good luck . He has fast feet and a good assist rate also . He is valued at 16mill but is entering the last 6 months of his contract , id say 10 mill would tie him down .

I'm sure West Ham, Everton and Southampton will be delighted to hear that

He'll almost certainly go to either Everton or West Ham IMO unless one of the bigger boys take a shine to him. We have pressing needs elsewhere on the pitch which I believe will be our priority in the Summer.

Worth noting that Diaz spends a lot of time playing LW for Blackburn, and there is a certain goal-scoring left winger that we may be struggling to hold on to....

Whether he leaves Rovers or not may well depend on whether they get promoted.
