Quite. There is so much ignorance of state sector work seemingly informed by bygone days and Boulting brother comedies.

Those who still see state sector workers as jobsworths fudging it to a ring-fenced final-salary pension (done away with years ago, by the way) truly have no clue.

They are severely reduced in number, criminally under-resourced, grossly under-paid and with crushingly low levels of moral. This is partly fed by the working conditions and partly by the ignorance of, and absence of any appreciation from, the population they serve.

There is undoubtedly a neat correlation between those who still think they are lazy, incompetent and cosseted and thus applaud further cuts to the civil service and those who whine because it takes an age for anything to come back from the Passport Office or DVLA.

I couldn’t agree more

Wasn't sure where to post this so please feel free to move it if you want to MODS.
I will post elsewhere as well.
I see that Dominic Raab is now being accused of bad behavior.
The whining and lack of spine of some of the people employed in the Civil Service needs to stop in my opinion.
every time someone says boo to them the cries of bullying come out and the left-wing -currently - media get on the case and spend days hounding said person out of office - they hope.
The real world is not pleasant at times and while I have no argument that bullying has no place in any walk of life, do these people really know what bullying is?
I do know and it is vile and must be stopped but raised voices and the odd rude word do not constitute that in my humble opinion.
Half of them are not at work anyway so they can't be shouted at as such.
This is just a plot by disgruntled employees to oust their masters and knee jerk sackings should generally be avoided.

Here we go again 'half of them are not at work,' utter tosh. They may not be in the office but that does not mean they are not at work. As for the rest of this you say there is no place for bullying yet then without knowing anything about this suggest it is not bullying.

I have worked in Westminster for a number of MP's like any bosses some are great to work for some are bullys. Ok we all say things sometimes that maybe should not be said or do something that maybe we should not have done but that can be bullying and is not acceptable simple as.
