Good point. In the last few General Elections they bounce between 1-3% of the voting population averaging under 1mm votes. Yet their influence on policy amongst the other parties is far greater than that.

At some point the Tories will wake up and realise they are just a noisy minority.

There is no 'reset', merely collapse. We are in the winter of Western Civilisation and it is being rubbed in our faces. You want an example of just how f***ed we are investigate this recent debacle with FTX.

Take a hard look at the utter gimp, who was paraded as the bright future. Understand how all the stops were being pulled out to make this freak as the champion of Crypto. Feted by the likes of Blair and Bill Clinton.

And for what? Funnelling funds into Joe Bidens political campaign?
Links to funds going to Ukraine?

Our political elites are simply f***ing moronic but in total control.

I do laugh at all the morality based arguments in the west around us and our lifestyles and thought/beliefs but in reality it IS all about money. I suppose at least Muslims as an example actually stick to a code whether we think it is out dated and wrong or not. From the wealthiest to the poorest.

You need to look beyond NI for a model. That system doesn't work because the DUP only signed up to the Anglo Irish Agreement under protest, now only play lip service to joint rule and put up any obstacle they can to working with the nationalists. The previous leader would not resign over a patently resignable issue as it would have meant handing over the reigns to Deputy McGuiness. Now the protocol is just another disingenuous excuse, and I have little doubt they will paralyse their country in years to come over a.n.other excuse rather than work with Sinn Fein.

We have powerful political divisions but nothing like the entrenched Sectarian pish that still divides that place.

The continent has a whole range of better examples to follow of strong stable prosperous countries with a long tradition of coalition government.

Yeah, not working with those who killed their people and our people and who were let out and hate them and rule over them.

How could they so unreasonable....

Borrowed.....mostly from the unborn.

Money that will never be paid back.

They spend, spend and spend and continually increase our debt then tell you how you need to tighten your belt.....all of them are so wealthy they will never have to look at their bills and be concerned.

Let's agree to differ on the whole question of who did the most genocide in Ireland. Over the last 900 years. The DUP are no different to Apartheid Boers, and SF are like Winnie Mandela. There is wrong on both sides of the argument. The Planters with a bible in one hand and a pistol in the other. SF with a pistol in one hand and Karl Marx in the other. And neither side willing to compromise or cooperate. 2 members of the Christian family squabbling, meanwhile the family fails to reproduce & thrive overall.

The political deadlock in N.I is jointly on the shoulders of both sides. Ethnic strife & sectarian religious problems. I greatly fear that N.I will be more peaceful than most of Western Europe over the next century.

If you think muslims stick to a code then you have not seen many entitled muslims , they are as corrupt morally, socially and financially as anyone else. From SE Asia to the Middle East to pakistan and Islamic Africa, all the same. No better or worse than non muslims but they can always shout Islamaphobia when it suits.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Crikey, you are stuck in a loop! This is not 1972. The whole point of reconciliation is to forget and put behind. Otherwise, it doesn't work.

The DUP have not. So, it isn't.

Do you realize how far the nationalists (who have had to abandon a united Ireland as part of the deal) have moved; but how little the unionists have?

And you are aware that the sides were killing each other for decades. Both ends have unresolved and deeply rooted grievances; but only one side has demonstrated genuine forgive and forget.

You may not like it, but the DUP are the main villains here.

the newly arrived Catholic political & demographic majority ? i fear the DUP's ability to sit back and continue to say 'No' ? its gone.

what will come next ? sounds scary if you ask me. Hoping for peace but dismayed at so many hardliners on both sides.
