The Ukrainians will eventually go home. The pakistani asylum seekers will not go back to Birmingham. People have sympathy for the Ukrainians but there's men denied asylum in the UK crossing into Dundalk who should be sent straight back to Karachi.

Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo. Twinned with London Luton ? right beside an airport and totally transformed without any proper public consultation.

Now reported as having the lowest property values in the country.

I wholeheartedly agree and the mass immigration is making the housing crisis worse.

As usual the government lies about immigration numbers. The 250,000 students doesn't include those that bring their families.

I suspect that many of these students are just abusing the scheme. If they are going to Oxford or Cambridge fair enough but how many are going to the University of Deptford to study Harry Potter never to return home.

To be fair to me, I have made considerable note and commentary on the dishonesty of the Tories on this issue.

I'd be amazed if anyone who actually takes note of politics actually thinks that Labour's new position on immigration is anything like serious and isn't political opportunism.

Also to be fair to me again, I'll also made plain why I care about the issue. Firstly, it's about not lying to your own base and secondly, it's about the direction of the country and the ponzi scheme implications of the policy, crime and social cohesion, balkanization and so on and so forth.

Starmer at the CBI conference warned that the UK must wean itself off migrant workers. However he never proposed an ideal number for annual immigration or provide any plan for reducing current levels and he never mentioned housing at all.

Not even 50% of the Ukrainians will be returning. I'd be surprised if 20% do. In a couple of years time we can celebrate our Ukrainian community on the Late,Late.

Yep, it's as much a lie as Brown's 'British jobs for British workers'.

Should have really said, 'British gold for foreign investors'....he would have been far more honest.

I don't know how the government would encourage people back into work or stop mass illegal immigration but I suspect withdrawing benefits and handouts would have some impact. Raising the minimum wage will be inflationary but it must have a positive impact too.

I think the system was fecked some decades ago. My Grandfather was a welder/stoker and fed his wife and two children family on one wage, whilst living in upper Norwood in a property that's worth a fortune now.

Youngsters today get nothing like that.....not even close.

There are plenty of jobs, that isn't the issue. The problem is the pay in relation to the cost of living. Compared to the past the money men and politicians have fecked things so badly that the working classes are really struggling.

Ukrainians eventually going home?

Not willingly in any significant numbers.

I won't go into the politics of what's happened because I'm fed up with arguing with those who nod along to the presented narrative but of one thing you can be certain.

Ukraine is economically completely fecked for decades.....It's needs huge levels of investment to get back on its knees. It's now essentially a weapons and war hub and most of those with means have already left.

It was poor before the war, which is criminal in respect to its resources.... another thing today's corrupt media won't touch.....However now that football of a country is a disaster zone.

and today ? a gang of 5 or 6 welders (child-less) would probably struggle to collectively afford that house.

The working-class man has truly been fecked.

Overly-generous benefits for single mothers and a tsunami of young single men into Western Europe...........two policies beloved by feminists.

Who said it is not an invasion? Westminster Brudge closed, as were several others. No permission given but, hey, the luxury car driving impoverished migrants deserve a chance to enjoy themselves, after all the hardship they have endured.
