Did she even call an ambulance at the time of the crash ? She must have known the rider was badly hurt.

Not a satisfactory conclusion but I guess the best the family could accept. The Foreign Secretary claims that lessons regarding diplomatic immunity have been learned, I hope they have because this woman should never have been allowed to leave the country. The question I would like to ask is why there was confusion over whether she had diplomatic immunity? Surely when a diplomat is assigned to the UK the foreign government explain their role and if they and their family have diplomatic immunity. If we disagree then that person is barred from entering if we agree then there should be no confusion. Or is that too bleedin obvious. Edited by Badger11 (08 Dec 2022 5.42pm) One more point

The Foreign Secretary claims that lessons regarding diplomatic immunity have been learned, I hope they have because this woman should never have been allowed to leave the country.

The question I would like to ask is why there was confusion over whether she had diplomatic immunity?

Surely when a diplomat is assigned to the UK the foreign government explain their role and if they and their family have diplomatic immunity.

If we disagree then that person is barred from entering if we agree then there should be no confusion. Or is that too bleedin obvious.

A very sad case but would any of you really go to a country to face a possible jail term if you didn�t have to. Any one who would will be celebrating their birthday on December 25th. If I�m wrong then so be it but I think you wouldn�t for sure. Self preservation would kick in as it did with this woman.

True, but that's where reasonable agreements between nations come in. The amount of times we've extradited someone to the US at their behest for instance, vs the opposite takes the piss. These things should be repicrical, else as in this case once someones out of the country, they may as well give us the middle finger. And our government likely helped her do so here. I admire the family for coming to some kind of peace over this whole ordeal, as that can't be easy.
