Never really rated him as anything special - but by far and away wetSpams best player, and possibly a reason for both Their upturn in fortune over the Last few seasons, and also for him being a misunderstood talent. In the Last Euros, was fairly dreadful throughout (but perhaps that should read 'Solid and did nothing of note') until the Final when I thought he was our best player. GS then duely subbed him. This is why I'm no Manager! Thought he's looked excellent in this world cup. Makes our midfield tick - especially with the 2 recent partners of Bellingham and Hendo. Provides a stability to allow the others to flourish, as well as providing some quality himself. He's slowly but surely changing my mind.

A lot of ex-players agree he'll really show how good he is if he goes somewhere like Man City so he could drive up the pitch more without having to look over his shoulder so much. On a related point I could see Gallagher as the replacement for Henderson if he can show some form for Chelsea.
