Too many times this season we look completely disinterested at the start of matches, and today it happened yet again. We look like one of the laziest and softest sides in the league.

If PV can't motivate his players, that's a huge problem that can't be solved with different tactics or more signings. We were such sh-t today that there should have subs made at HT, just to send a message to those players, if nothing else.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Serious question..... can anyone remember any Boxing Day match where we have actually played a blinder of a game?

All my memories seem to merge into one long impression of overfed, under motivated players lumbering around in a pathetic impression (with the odd exception) of disinterested donkeys...... bit like today, but some of you may know better!

We were poor to begin with today but at half time I opined to a fellow fan that I was not inconsolable with despair. Thought Mitchell’s red card was harsh and had the red given a yellow that might have stood but perhaps not. Tomkins second yellow was farcical however and that killed the game stone dead.

It was such a non event that upon arriving home I’m not even angry upset etc, left after their second which for all the world looked a handball to me and I had a good view, not really checked rest of comments or media yet however if that’s disputed or even disproved.

A shambolic game, I thought decisions were very poor on us and an absolute write off. I strongly suspect that could be the last we see of Tomkins. He looks as though he’s given up on playing and we’re it not for dire straits on our behalf and money on his I suspect he’d be long gone.

We desperately need depth and strengthening in January however I’m confident that will not come. The most disappointing thing today was the lack of fitness, sharpness but most of all general absence of any recognisable inclination to try and compete. The latter I can’t forget and whilst an almost comical script I really hate that we never, ever, look like the more determined team. Pure laziness and lack of professionalism.

We don't have, and haven't had for while, a leader type player who is not afraid to bollock his fellow players and set the example. Too many players with a lackadaisical attitude thinking that the bare minimum is enough. Too many lightweights and not even one leader. I've thought for a good while that the team doesn't look fit enough, and I wonder what the training regime actually does. As you say, the players look lazy.

I think today had been coming for a while and Fulham had clearly done their homework on us allowing Tomkins to have the ball and let Andersen nowhere near it. The former has been a great signing for us but there were warnings in his few performances last season.

It's very concerning that we're so one dimensional and our entire game from front to back is so reliant on Guehi and Andersen staying fit and that there's so little depth or resilience in the team.

I'm fed up with watching the game pass Schlupp by and Riedewald (whom I'm no big fan of) has to come in ahead of the powder puff Hughes IMO.

The fuss around Olise's buy out clause is looking a bit sick at the moment.

Vieira has been let down by the board who are now appearing a disparate group. However, I was most disappointed by his and Robert's inability to instil a bit of blood and thunder when it was needed today rather than encourage the backwards passing and generally fvcking around in our own half that had served us so badly in the first half.

Second half of the season is looking horrible.

Some of the comments here are unbelievable.

We started poorly but were growing into the game having weathered the early push by Fulham. That’s not unusual. Then we lost a goal. It happens.

The key turning point was the first red, but we were managing that, containing things and trusting on a breakaway or a late push.

The second red was ridiculous. It wasn’t even a foul. It was cheating which should have resulted in a red the other way, squaring things up from where we could easily have gone on to win. Why VAR didn’t overturn beats me. Tomorrow I will be with a Premier League Assistant Referee who is a mate and will ask him!!!He also works on the VAR.

It was a bad day all round but I expect it to be motivating too.

Be interested to hear his take on it . Wasn't it at the start of the season that for clarity and to stop any debate if there is a handball accidental or not then the goal is dissalowed . The ref today appeared to indicate he thought it was accidental .

The first red was harsh ,the second yellow for JT was a mystery , just dont know what he saw there .

Apart from that we got all we deseverd , nothing

And we still need a striker

Spot on ... we deserved nothing and got clobbered. Lesson to be learned from today is ... to try and look interested when you go onto the pitch Palace.

I was disappointed after the game but felt we were looking more likely to score when they got their first goal. Even after the first red I thought we could get something out of the game. The second red killed it. The stats are pretty meaningless given 11 v 9. Other than feeling we obviously need defensive cover given we had to play Tomkins from the start and brought on the same subs we’ve been using for 2 years now, I was disappointed we didn’t bring on the youngsters. We might at least have had some energy.

Anyway, I thought that’s the bad performance out of the way and we had a crap referee. Then I read some of the depressing stuff here. Replace PV with Sean Dyche!! FFS! I’m going for a bath!

Utter shambles from start to finish. Worst home performance since 0-4 Sunderland even the 7 goal hiding from Liverpool was better. Luka or Hughes should partner Doucoure, they both have limitations but at least they both understand the role

I can’t believe you’re serious. Far superior? Based on what? Brighton have a much better squad than us despite regularly selling all their best players every transfer window. Our full backs are average with no back ups, our forwards aren’t good enough and our options off the bench are non-existant.

You are talking S***e, our players are superior to theirs, the other teams are coached better, since PV became manager not one player has improved, in fact he is turning good players into average ones, he does not have any idea how to run a mid table side, and it dosent matter who we buy until a decent manager with a history of some success is appointed nothing will change
