Im sorry but some of the posts on here are ridiculous. i do think that a number of posters on here love wet panting over the slightest disappointing result(s) The Forest result was disappointing but if Zaha scores the pen it would have been a different result. Fulham i agree was absolute rubbish. Bornemouth we totally owned and should have won by more than the two. Spurs who could have predicted that score at half time our finishing in the first half was dire and Spurs did not have a sniff .They just were ultra clinical in the second half. Today first half again we scored , Ayew missed a sitter and then both Eduard and then Olise missed the simplest of passes to put Zaha clear one on one with the keeper . Three up and game over Southampton Fluked both goals. So out of those 4 games we have only been ripped apart by one team Fulham. I accept we need to freshen/strengthen in a couple of areas but listening to some posts calling for the managers head and calling recent performances as being dire ,try watching the games without the blinkers on. Im sure i will be corrected but i believe we are 3 points better off than same games played last year

In the last 6 games we have only scored in two of them, a grand total of 3 goals. We have conceded 10 goals (>3x what we’ve scored) and have also gone out of two cups. More than half of those games have been against promoted teams and one against rock bottom of the table who despite beating us were booed by their own fans at times given they were so poor. It’s 50/50 on games played away/home.

We’ve seen missed penalties, us down to nine men and a host of awful errors including two, leading to two goals, in the game against a team themselves in serious and arguably far worse trouble, at home, today. We hardly brought in any quality in the window, do not look poised to go do this one and have the statistically lowest work rate of any team in the league. It’s almost ubiquitously recognised by fans we have no midfield, despite our manager having been a world class and now legendary midfielder himself, the team seem very low on confidence and effort, we look weak at full back, are struggling to score goals and seem unable to even pass to each other atm.

‘Wet panting’ for me is the usage of a term by somebody looking to virtue signal as a football fan on a fans’ forum - very bizarre. There’s a difference between articulation of genuine, evidence backed concern and becoming hysterical over the imagined or trivial. I don’t believe the current status quo qualifies as such.

Some of the points you have made are not ridiculous at all, plus I believe could be of valuable contribution to consideration. Asserting them off the back of trying to belittle other fans for saying ‘football fan things’ is for me, again, bizarre.

I won’t even go into ‘well if x, y and z then… ’. If my auntie had balls… etc.

Perhaps PV will have some time to reflect upon why his managerial career follows a similar trajectory. In his defence it is clear that the board have not given him the support in the transfer arena he needs to play the kind of game he wants to, and I dare suspect the game Parish wants him to play. It's the FdB saga over again.
Chelsea, Newcastle, Man U, BHA, Brentford, Liverpool, Villa, Man City, Arsenal. Quite a schedule of upcoming fixtures, however if one wishes to thrive and survive in the PL on has to compete. Not strengthening an average squad could well bring his career at Palace to an end. I'd ask what was he expected to do under such circumstances? The next incumbent will be in exactly the same position.
