Indeed, I still can't quite believe that our own government told people to 'stay home and save lives', when in reality they didn't know what they were talking about....they were punting....but because they are the authority figures everyone just took it at face value.....even though any examination of the policies made little sense as, in reality, most of the workforce carried on working because it had to.

As ever, because all the managerial class did the same groupthink there is a complete lack of self criticism and revisionism. They just don't talk about it, yet I can't see how any honest inquiry won't look at this rather severely.

This happens time and time again. Dominic Cummings is not a nice person but he was right about this Group Think / Blob.

Somebody has POV and they all pile on it's the equivalent of #MeToo, don't think why is a man walking around Chicago at 3am in the morning in sub degrees he says he was assaulted so believe him.

Yep, it's quite incredible really.

Instead of the smartest people at the top all too often you get careerists, brown nosers obsessed with sniffing out a consensus rather than come to their own view.

Hide in the pack....it's nothing but cover my arse all the way down.

The exact opposite of the kind of people a country needs to succeed.

I certainly don't.

I do however distinctly remember him calling for severe restrictions to be put on the unvaccinated based upon the misinformation that they were dangerous while the vaccinated weren't.

He spent his time accusing others of misinformation when that was precisely what he himself was doing.

Whether someone took a vaccination or not was always a personal decision and the the behaviour, threats and pressure from some were quite disgraceful.

I remember.

Myself and you plus others was questioning him and providing evidence he would have none of it.

Making up things to suit his own view point not what evidence showed as if the likes of WHO was only one that is correct on everything plus vaccinate doing no harm it was people who refused it being the problem.

Agreed.

I despair whenever a UN body makes a statement the media just lap it up e.g. Britain condemned for....

It doesn't occur to people that countries that are our enemies have realised that the best way to play the UN game is to seize control of the key bodies. So if you are a tyrant get voted onto the the Human Rights commission.

China has a huge influence over the WHO.

Most UN reports are political I am not saying they are all wrong just that you need a healthy dose of skepticism, no one in this country blindly believes in government sponsored reports so why believe the UN without at least fact checking.

Yep, I think that's exactly how it was.

Complete and utter bs. Your memory, and that of those who have jumped on your bandwagon, is seriously flawed.

What I said at the time was that the lockdowns made sense to limit the spread and allow time to build experience, understanding and for the vaccines to be developed.

What I also said, several times, is that in due time the brakes would come off and we would gradually return to normality. Which is exactly what happened.

Only a mega-dimwit fails to understand that such a process obviously includes the lifting of lockdowns at the appropriate moment.

I did call for severe restrictions on the unvaccinated and repeat them now. If people want the freedom to decide for themselves whether to be vaccinated or not then there has to be the same right for the vaccinated to decide whether they wish to associate with the unvaccinated.

I don’t. I regard those deciding for non medical reasons to refuse the vaccines, when not only the science, the testing and the extensive real world use all indicate their benefits hugely outweigh any risk, are extremely selfish. On top of that they demand a greater use of NHS resources due to their propensity to suffer severe disease. With the NHS under such stress such behaviour is completely unacceptable. Indeed a case could be made for them to be put at the bottom of lists in the current situation.

So I would like the unvaccinated to be treated like smokers. As social pariahs. I don’t want them in my company but right now we don’t even know who they are.

LOL

I think he is as I said in the main covid forum a while ago doing it on purpose to get reactions.

What he comes out with is someone who needs locking up for mental health issues no wonder he wants others to be on lockdown.

Another typical reply when you either haven’t got anything to say or the decency to apologise for what appears to be an outright lie, or at best a complete misreading of what I said. Which isn’t that unusual with you. You frequently misinterpret what is said and impose your own, twisted, meaning on it.

You moan like Zaha in a strop over your perceived rights being threatened but when someone points out that others have rights too you clam up.

It’s really no wonder that those who think like you comprise such an insignificant minority.

It takes quite some skill to be able to post even greater nonsense than your friend but you are making a brave attempt.

I react to things. Whether others respond is of no interest to me at all but should they do so, and say things that I want to pass comment on, I will.
