The pendulum swings far... that's the issue, we don't have momentum..

Reasons to optimistic:
1)We have a good point's haul so far and sit comfortably in mid table.
2) We have some great young players in the first team who's best is yet to come.
3) We are good at beating team's below us in the table
Reason's to be pessimistic
1) Our recent form is poor and we have no major injuries.
2) Our manager's results tend to decline in his second season at previous club's
3) Relegation battle this year is very competitive.
4) Squad depth is not very deep

I actually would like to say i've been impressed with everything about Osian Roberts and i think he comes across a lot better in his press interviews than Patrick does.

We will finish in the bottom 5 with Bournemouth, Southampton, Forest and Wolves, If PV dosent change his tactics.

Bah. That's what many said about Roy, myself included, when the team went through a sticky patch. Thing is, once they realise that the journey on the gravy train is reaching is final stop and their cushy number is over, they suddenly pick up a bit of form. A strange coincidence, but there you go.

I hope you are right, i am glass half full person normally, i think the squad is no worst than the ones Roy had, should be better with the money spent, but i fear that Roy was a far better manager than PV, Roy got the most out of what he Had, PV dosent, out of the 9 players he has bought, only 3, maybe 4, for are regular starters

What Roy had was vast experience, it counts in the situation we find ourselves in.

Indeed, however Brighton in their last 6 PL games have scored 17 goals, we have scored 5 in our last 6 PL games.
Brighton have also won 2 of their last 3 games scoring 7 goals in the process.
We have lost 2 out of our last 3 games, both at home , conceded 7 goals in those matches and never got on the scoresheet.

1, you back PV in the market spend as much as you can afford on buying or loaning players, with the knowledge that if it dosent improve you are well and truly stuffed, Or
2, You decide that whether the club has enough good players to get by until the end of the season, with a couple of cheap loans and sack PV and install Dyche, or someone experienced with a short term bonus related appointment-
Then reassess at the end of the season-

I go for 2

Or - you sack PV, which is what your personal agenda is all about, get a couple of '' cheap loans '' in, install Dyche or whoever and still get relegated.

Posters on here want a Hodgson type manager in - really ? I was one of Roy's biggest advocates when he was in charge but I wouldn't want a return to that brand of football. You are saying that he's a better manager than PV - well he's had far more experience, but his methods are now considered outdated.

One poster mentions '' momentum ''. That we don't have any. That can change. Prime example being on Saturday. At 1-0 to Palace, Saints fans were chanting that Nathan Jones football is s***. I didn't hear them repeat that when they went 2-1 into the lead. Things can and will change.

I would only support sacking Vieira if we looked like we were nailed on for relegation unless we parted company with him. And that is not the case at the time of writing.

What situation is that? You make it sound like we’re doomed. Yes we've had a couple of mares recently, but you know what we’re like, ever since we’ve been promoted things can look pretty bleak at times, but we pull a few results out of the bag when needed ala Bournemouth

I understand your doubts, and PV's managerial career to date is there for all to see. Roy's long career wasn't without the occasional blip either. At the end of the day it is down to the players, although it is always the manager who carries the can.
My feeling is that PV is far too chummy with the players, I may be mistaken on that score, however what I'd like to see is that ruthless streak he had as a player make itself shown as a manager.
