Everton are not going down. West Ham are not going down. Saints always find a way to survive in the second half, against all odds. Who does that leave? Bournemouth...After that, it's easy to see us being dragged into the mix, especially given we don't play another "bottom 10" team until March... I don't think this squad right now has the necessary fight if we end up in a relegation battle. Out best bet is to stay above it, but that isn't going to be easy given our schedule.

I would have agreed with you but I think the performance on Wednesday showed they probably have. Everton have got real problems throughout the club they may not go down but they won’t be far away. I don’t rate Leeds either.

Another set of games goes by and we are still 7 points clear of the zone. Looking in the other direction we are 7 off europe! Despite some saying saints and everton wont go down I personally feel that everton are broken and that saints have had their good run which ended yesterday. Looking at historical data I believe we need 36/37 points this season. Which is another 12/13 points from 18 games. The key games are those between the bottom seven and everton lost the first of theirs yesterday.

I think we all know that our next 7 games are tricky. We've got the United backlash, City chasing Arsenal down, Arsenal trying to stay ahead, and probably Liverpool's recapture of form. If we were offered 7 points for them right now, I'd take it. That'd give us 31 from 27. Our games in April are: H - Leicester That'll be our season right there. Less than 6 points from that and we are in big trouble. More than 12 and, given we play the promoted 3 in the last 3 games, there's every chance we break the 50 point barrier. Everton's big issue is their final home games are tough - From April they've got Tottenham, Fulham, Newcastle, City, Bournemouth. If they want to turn it around, they have to do soon, or they have to do it away. They've got enough quality to do it with the right manager though. Bournemouth and Southampton I'm more worried for. The relegation battle this season is going to be very tight. Everton in my opinion are in the thick of it and given they only just escaped last season (we helped their cause chucking away a 2 goal lead ) and have sold Richarlison i don't think we can assume they will escape just because they may be deemed a big club. Equally watching West Ham this season they look a team with very little pace and now their set piece goals have dried up i don't think they are going to pull clear either. Bournemouth look the most vulnerable team at the moment but who joins them? Possibly Southampton. The third place though is very much up for grabs - and yes we are in the battle for sure.
