Although maybe he just has ambitions of winning an international tournament.

TBF if I was him I would choose France. Im sure PV is pointing him in that direction

If nothing else, this thread proves that the modern world struggles to cope with anybody who doesn't fit into a pre-fabricated box. You score a goal...you'd damn well better celebrate it like everyone else does. Good heavens, we can't have someone exhibiting an individual personality. Micheal Olise is....Michael Olise. Deal with it.

Presumably, he has at least one French parent. Maybe he wants to honour them? Or just maybe he thinks "which tactical approach will suit my career best? Gareth Southgate's? Or Didier Deschamps'?

My bet, looking at the bigger picture, I would compare his actions to someone on the spectrum...

If he were, he could inspire so many more... but understandable why he and the club would protect/nurture him, long as they don't set him up to fail with some interviewers.

This was once a quality forum....

According to newsnowcrystalpalace Olise's failure to celebrate is because he wants to alert other clubs that he wants one of them to trigger his 35 million release clause and get out of Palace. Nice.

It's funny, but I thought exactly this walking to work this morning and was about to post the same thing. I have family members on the spectrum one of whom plays (at a very, very amateur kids' level) and I have seen him handle memorable moments with the same indifference Olise does - then, once home after the game, bubble away in delight for hours once back in his safe environment. Not everyone is, to use the phrase, neuro-typical.

I find that hard to believe. Any clubs interested would already be tracking him, gone of the days of "come and get me" or sending up white smoke, no need. I'm sure his agent knows what to do if he really wants a move.

There was a report yesterday, can't remember where, that Palace have removed the release clause. No idea if that's true or even possible.

And now you know why clickbait websites exist. Because there are actually people out there who will read and swallow the utter dogs*** that they pass off as real content and this enables them to keep making money from their advertisers. I'm shocked that anyone would think this sort of rubbish was even worth repeating.

It's quite embarrassing scoring goals and having everybody jump all over you.

Extremely embarrassing.

It seems strange that if a player celebrates by pulling off his jersey he gets a yellow. But if the whole team lie on top of him, in an imitation of a collapsed maul in rugby, it's regarded as quite acceptable.

(Maybe I'm unobservant, but I don't recall seeing this sort of nonsense at the Palace, by either side.)

Or, as in the case of Man Utd on Wednesday, the team convenes a half-hour-long Annual General Meeting.
