There are two types of owners now. Those with the GDP of a small country and everyone else. When we don’t have the former I’ll take Parish any day. Yes he has a massive ego but show me anyone who earns seven figures plus annually who hasn’t. His obsession with the club as an extension of his own image is precisely why I trust him. If the club fails he fails. And he’s smart enough not to let that happen. How many clubs outside the big boys have owners doing a better job? Some but not many.

Fair enough, and most of us will agree with the sentiment. However, the obvious flip side is that if the other owners will spend 100mil on players and we will spend 20mil on players in a season, then the liklehood is that we will not be able to compete sooner or later. The other obvious consequence is the inflation in transfer fees. When you see us being asked 20mil for Boey, you can clearly see that. Suddenly 20mil is the going rate for a squad body - except for the obvious dross.

Parish held out last minute to get a really sweet deal for the club... fair enough, he's a businessman... however, a fan wouldn't have let us struggle til last minute.

Parish doesn't have the funds to take us further, that's apparent.

Parish makes a very comfortable profit from palace, palace use his side companies and one being 'smoke and mirrors'.

Parish puts off investors as he feels he has the last say.. parish spins this as he is protecting the club... protecting it from what?

Please do not tell me administration...

Time for Parish to sell up and let someone else have a go.

Parish has overseen the most successful period the club has known. I don't understand why he gets so much stick from a section of supporters.
If you compare his tenure to Jordans, it shows him to be a shrewd businessman, instead of an argumentative ego that wanted to change the football world and ultimately ran out of friends and money.
There is no guarantee that anyone else could do a better job. Remember when Blades was in charge he was siphoning money out of the club for years to finance his golf clubs.

I completely agree with you and the facts speak for themselves as to what Parish has achieved; my sense is that he wants to get the new stand finalised and then something will happen re the ownership and he, Blitzer and Harris will perhaps step aside - the latter two having made something from their investment. What they sell will be hugely attractive - brand new Academy facilities, a much improved SP, a Premier League team in London for 10 years, a strong Sporting Director structure in place and so on. Hence, my take is that this kind of scenario will unfold - perhaps in 2/3 years time.

What will be the value of the club at that time? Somewhere around £400/£500m would be my guess - one huge difference from the £10m Parish and other other 3 paid in 2010.

I love what SP has done with the club and the Academy but the stadium was handed to him on a plate when SJ was effectively bankrupted. I will be happier in a few years time when the Main stand is finished (not happy with the Crystal Palace thing as money could have been saved there).

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Perhaps he may step aside earlier if the remaining shareholders promise to name it the Steve Parish Stand

Steve parish reign is coming to a end, similar to Ken bates off Chelsea, don't ask me why I say this as I know.

It must be difficult to be in charge of something you care so deeply about when the price of failure is so much more than it would be for some billionaire owner with no connection to the club or it's fan base. All I ever see from Parish is an owner who loves Palace and wants what we all want, except he also has to balance that with a business mind. Personally, I think he has most things right. Could we be a little further ahead developmentally, yes probably, but how many teams have we seen try to punch above their weight too early. The development of the youth academy, the stadium plans and what looks to be a restructuring of the age and wages of the players shows a gradual improvement. The fact is, the more we improve the various elements of the club behind the scenes, the better we'll be as a football team and the more attractive we'll be to new fans and new players. Besides the available financial information and the information given to us by any of the owners, none of really know exactly what is going on but I trust Parish with his role

This without sufficient information from Man City and Chelsea. However, as someone pointed out earlier, he puts a lot of his salary back into the club, so how could he be in it for the money?

It would not surprise me as a minority shareholder all Textor needs is the vote of one of the other Americans.

I hope it doesn't happen as SP has done more for the club than anyone. I dont trust Textor (yet).

What we don't know is what is the real issue here:

1. Textor wants us to buy some of his rubbish player from his other clubs.

2. Textor wants the club to borrow more money to fund the transfers and SP thinks this is reckless.

3. SP is not prepared to put his share of money into the club so holding back the funding of the others.

At this stage my faith is with SP, time will tell.
