I was in conversation about the player yesterday evening.
I am told he was better known in Belgium playing as a holding midfielder. He can play in a No 8 role but there are some who believe he is better playing in a No 6 role.

On that note, I need to depart HOL for the day as I have a rather hectic schedule ahead of me.

Let me guess....the bushes in Sainsburys car park ?

Forest + FFP -
Obviously I am open to correction on this but I think that as PL Newcomers they have 3 years to get their books in order in terms of not losing more that 115 Million over 3 years - Losses over that can be permitted if the owner covers the amount over in full - So at the moment they are in the clear to pretty much spend whatever they like so long as the players they buy also have some resale value so that they can sell them again when they need to balance the books - for sure they wont leave it till the last minute but at the moment their aim is obviously PL survival, assuming that they manage that then things will probably settle down for them next season - & we may see them trading more sensibly in the summer -

I must admit I’m getting very disillusioned with these transfer windows. I really used to look forward to the excitement of who goes where and what club buys who. Michael Bridge outside training ground having jokes played on him by Palace players. That has all gone its now all about the top six clubs and Chelsea’s horrendous spending. The likes of Nottingham Forest it’s been nothing but buy buy buy since they got promoted how the hell they are keeping in this FFP is beyond me. It’s now come an over inflated market where the pickings are there for the mega rich owners of these make the rules up as they go along clubs. Then we have these vulture of agents that inflate the market even more with their demands for their clients. These windows in my eyes have caused more trouble than they are worth as teams are pressured to stay in the top leagues. We have seen so many times you cannot afford to stand still in the footballing world specially the Premiership you just get left behind and relegation is a massive fall specially with the money involved. As for Palace we have investors that seem to be preoccupied with interests of others clubs. Why have we players like Tomkins, Milo, Great players and servants but why are still at the club where other clubs would have replaced these players ages ago for younger players.

Surely the process would have migrated to email with some sort of docusign by now - hasn't it?

A bit of fun from the Charlton fans forum, they are not happy (are they ever).

Anyway they are running a book on the excuses the club will make tomorrow after the window has closed:

“A very difficult transfer window”. 4/6

”Never easy to sign the right players in January “. 5/6

”Planning already underway for the Summer”. Evs

“A lot of top clubs were also in for Omar Bogle”. 2/1

“We just missed out on the deal”. 1/33

”These owners are a complete s***show to work for, and I resign” 50/1

Plus some old favourites

"Goals post were moved late on for us on a few deals"

We had 3 very close just couldn't get them over the line.

(The 16 year old we sign on loan from Spurs) is one we've been tracking for a long time and we're very excited about his potential [leaves the club in May having made zero appearances]

Charlton are a 5hitty little club from Plumstead, in League One, that nobody cares about, even in the stands.

We are in the same Transfer market position as them apparently.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Aren't they competing with Fisher Athletic in the battle of the Athletics? Obviously, Fisher the better side by far.

Sky Sports News is better comedy than any stand up comedy routine. The studio is like a motley crew of random morons who seem to know nothing at all about football. More about fitting some kind of invented, necessary profile. I was watching yesterday's random hipsters too - the football bloggers who suddenly mean something apparently. The irony is clearly lost on Sky.
