Wouldn't be surprised to hear an agreement has already been made to sign him in the summer, Chelsea supposedly ruled out a loan & Conor was reported to rule out Everton & claim to prefer a Palace move. If we're unable to justify that amount in January, preferring to buy one / loan one we may be biding our time to splash out in a few months.

I'd be more than happy sticking to a model that is designed to buy players for less than we sell them at. Easier said than done eh. I love Connor, but when you are buying at £400m, that's harder to do. I'm not sure he has the technical talent to be an £80m player in 5 years.... For comparison, Brighton paid around £40m for White, Bissouma and Cucurella, and sold for £140m.

I really don't think Gallagher would want to come to us full time. He has got to be thinking about trophies and European football, especially after being in England squad for WC.
