As someone else posted, we’re doing really well without him atm. Until we can replace his goals we’re in trouble. And I have no faith in that happening.

Pardon ? 'We're doing really without him'

If that's your opinion on how we are doing when we are not creating much going forward and with defensive weaknesses then your glass is definitely half-full!

He has always been our talisman and at the moment I don't see a plan to fill the gap when he leaves. We need him back urgently as teams below us are mostly reviving and we could be in trouble come the end of March.

It was sarcasm

I think it was an ironic statement Uphill in case you've missed that.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It was meant to be sarcastic. My glass is certainly not half full. It’s in bits on the floor.

Adapting to life without Wilf will take a while but I actually think we might find a way to and be stronger without him.

He is the prism through which our light refracts. It's not going to be totally easy to just move away from that.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

We will have to try a different approach such as offering to name the new stand as The Wilfried Zaha Stand

I know that Parish wanted it named after himself but he can have the ground instead although Parish Park doesn't have much of a ring to it

Nice idea, Midlands, but I can't see Wilf hanging around until 2050 TBH.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Feels a bit harsh.

A player who is often touted as the best outside the top 6, on a wage that is on par with the non-superstars at at the top 6.

Also from a team contribution perspective, Luka and Jairo have the same combined wage as Wilf. I know who I'd rather have

Not at all. He had the potential, he went, didn't do so well and returned. He's done well since at a club that is just below top 10 standard. He certainly did well for himself on the wage front, I suspect he figured out that he was more vital to Palace than Benteke, who was on a crazy wage. Talisman? Yes, he's managed to create an aura about himself. Inconsistent? Yes. Wanted by other clubs on his current wage? Open to conjecture. What I do know is that when he was at the height of his powers and requested a transfer, there was mild interest but nothing serious; that says a lot.
When Wright left, now that was a disaster. Without Wilf, I think we'll be ok.
It makes me laugh when Palace fans point to the likes of Brighton and Brentford and their ability to sign and sell players for a good profit and maintain a good standing in the league, and yet in the same breath get misty eyed and panicky at the thought of Zaha leaving...

He could be sitting next to Parish in the stand

He renegotiated at a good time, when in a powerful position and Palace were brining in so called super stars.

But as the talisman in a prem team, he's on a similar wage to say James WP.

And also simular money to a bunch of players that add so little in comparison, Iwobi, Ox, RLC, Van De Beek etc. So whilst he might not always 'ern' it, its not really that out of kilter with where the league is at.

I suspect the fear of him leaving vs a Brentford/Brighton is:

He's been a mainstay of hte team for a bloody age
We are hardly proficient at effectively replacing players
